She was implied to die in the Fate route.
She literally gets eye gouged, crawls around desperately looking for her partner, and gets crushed by Gil in the UBW route.
She sacrifices herself in HF.
Even in the alternate universe based around her, she can never be with the one man she really loved, because the age difference is an actual thing there, instead of just the meme it is in the Fate games.

Illyasviel Von Einzbern is truly a character with no good endings, and that makes me sad, considering how much I like her as a character and person.

Her actions all make sense and become infinitely more tragic when you see that Shirou was, according to her grandfather for her entire life, the reason that her parents are gone. Shirou is the big bad to her, and only when she meets shirou, and starts to love him, she can accept her life, and dies for him.

Illya deserves a route. I want to see her happy for once, I don't care if it has no H-scene, or if it's the shortest route, but I just want a happy ending for her character. I want to see her survive and finally fulfill her dream. I don't care about no caster, no rider route, but Illyasviel really does deserve one.

She gets the short stick in every single route because by the time the Fifth HGW takes place she is already beyond saving. No matter what Shirou does, it's too late to do anything.
That's why she gets a "route" where she can be happy in Prisma Illya, since the point where the events changed from the original FSN timeline in that timeline is way earlier and thus she could be saved in time.
So basically she can only be happy in the one timeline where Kerry wasn't an autistic fuck-up and prevented the Fourth HGW shitfest from taking place.

In HF, it's heavily implied that Archer came from an Ilya route. I know there's a reference in HF right before he sacrifices himself to the Shadow, but I think it's also made mention of even more vaguely in Fate route.

Nah, its just missing the 1 critical route defining scene under the church. Without it, Shirou never had to face the orphan, and he never resolved to not look back and regret the decisions he made, which would've prevented his action as Archer. Archer regretted the decisions he made, Fate!CG!EMIYA wouldn't, even in the very low chance that he accepted the contract. At the same time, Saber wouldn't have seen Shirou reject the grail, and do the same, choosing to accept that she did her best for her people and she shouldn't try and change it.

Really disappointed with how Prisma turned out. Third arc is just the worst. It feels like it's not even the same series anymore. Then it gets a movie about a flashback about Shirou's past and not even the Shirou from the beginning of the series but one from an alternate world. I went from fun spinoff with a twist to typical fate tripe.
