Do you people not get bored of posting the same thing over and over?
No MC = Shit
Making such giant arc without Kurapika was a mistake
...
The boxing guy and the one-armed one were cool, the fights were cretaive, but the powercreeping was too high. And let's not even talk about Gon power-up.
You need to have a very high IQ to like this arc, that's why most of the people here don't appreciate it, unlike me
Try reading it over 6 fucking years
komugi was the only good thing in this arc
This. The pacing was agonizing. The arc in and if itself was fantastic.
Amazing numbers.
>50 chapters or 10 episodes into a fight
>at this point, the fight had gone for two seconds
Yuck
I can see why if you read for as long as it went on. I didn't so I loved it. But I can't imagine reading it for 10 years.
Too powercreeped for me.
>Komugi was a one-dimensional character
>durrr look humans treat their cattles so bad, now you get what you deserve! (even though humans are capable of complex though and emotions unlike animals and aren't the same at all)
>main antagonist is a rip-off of Cell with less personality, plays board game to appear "deep" and spouts basic, entry-level philosophy
>the finale with Komugi and Meruem was melodramatic because their relationship was extremely rushed and forced
>Netero barely did anything before this arc, he only got a backstory before he died and his bomb wasn't foreshadowed at all
>MC can literally become as strong as the villain just by "sacrificing" something but ended up getting healed by a plot device that wasn't foreshadowed earlier
>Kite was barely fleshed out before he "died" and he just like the rest of the supporting characters are still bland as ever
The only reason people (mostly normies) liked this arc is because "look how dark and mature it is111". When it's probably one of the most poorly written arcs I've ever read even by shonen standards.
inb4 hxhfags get to ad hominems and do mental gymnastics to deny facts.
hunter x hunter really is the rick & morty of anime
Most overrated arc in manga history
>no new IP
You can just smell the desperation from these clowns.
Fucking THIS
newfags are lucky to read it all in one go. Fuck the hiatus.
It's just Sup Forums contrarianism at its finest, user. When the arc was going on this whole board was losing its shit.

Find me an anime that compares then?
Seriously. I've yet to see any writer outside of Togashi that can craft true tension like this.
Faggot
>did people really not liking this arc
>i was holding my breath and are very tense
When will Hiro implement a literacy test?
The real problem is this though
hxh sucks shit, and has the worst protagonist in shounen history. It's so bad that Togashi would rather be doing anything else besides write this tripe.
It was shit but Meruem vs Netero was pure kino
>has the worst protagonist in shounen history
Imagine watching/reading every single shounen ever.
>has the worst protagonist in shounen history
Did he rape your cat or something?
Fuck off, cancer.
He's the same character archetype as Goku without much of the power fantasy.
Why do people hate Gon so much?
just one or two determined shitposters
muh assassin's feelings
What is there to like? Zero wins. Gimped himself completely against Pitou, which he didn't need to do. Gets too emotional. Jobs against most villains. Not even relevant anymore in Dark Continent arc.
Seriously. Nobody wants to associate themselves with a loser. It's a cardinal sin in shounen
Goku actually wins against credible opponents. Why do you think readers would like a jobber?

Some of the scenes were visually great, I just wish there was more build up to it. There's really nothing personal between Netero and the King and the actual combat didn't have good choreography, just generic DBZ shit. It was another "fake deep" fight with shots of the game board here and there even though the only strategy there was Meruem hitting repeatedly until Netero gets hit. Which isn't really that unique or clever, those """"""""strategic"""""" scenes may have been pretentious but very pretty to look at.
Why do people like Gon so much? How come people have different opinions? Hmm...what a mystery
Yea. it's great.
Try Negima's festival arc.
Is this the new "Chrollo cheated"? Can't wait for more uninspired bait threads and posts by this guy until he moves onto the next HxH character.
The only thing I see in these threads are people criticizing HxH, but no one has the balls to respond to criticisms and just insult the guys for calling Togashi out on his bad writing.
welcome to Sup Forums where people pretend to like hxh just for hipster cred. If Naruto wasn't popular and hxh was the one in the big 3 Sup Forums would like Naruto more
You can always open your own thread if you're so desperate for replies.
Naruto is a better protagonist than Gon. He actually wins fights, and has a hot wife.
He's a winner.
>He actually wins fights
Through bullshit. How many times did Kurama save his ass again?
Gon also swims in pussy.
It would help if you had an argument that isn't a regurgitation of what folks long past have said, was debated against multiple times, and was eventually revealed to never really have anything more than shitslinging to rile people.
One of the core appeals of Hunter x Hunter for me is that Gon and Killua are involved in major conflicts but not the center of them, and are often vastly out matched by their opponents. The Gon Hisoka badge hunt is a good example, where Gon can't defeat his opponent up front, so he has to try to steal it under his nose. Rather than an action movie, it reads more like a thriller/suspense, where the protagonist is little compared to their threat. Feel free to hate Gon for not winning more though, as if that's some requirement of a good character.
wins are a requirement in a battle shounen genre.
The fact that people care so much about Chrollo and Hisoka in this series prove it. Because deep down, they know who the important characters are. The relevant and threatening characters who are high tier. The rest being irrelevant, and in Gon's case, who is written out of the story completely.
And no, HxH does not subvert the genre. I don't want to hear that garbage from "pseudo-intellectuals".
To my awareness, Gon is an atypical protagonist. Call that whatever you want. I don't like series or characters just because they subvert a genre. And good for shonen readers, I guess.
