Academy City also known as Academy City of Science and Technology is a landlocked sovereign city-state whose territory consists of a walled enclave within the Tokyo Metropolitan Employment Area. It is the primary setting of the Toaru Majutsu no Index series and its side stories.
As the city's name suggests, it is a city of several schools and institutions of higher learning from kindergarten to university level that learn side-by-side along with the scientists who research on psychic powers and higher technology, the latter being one of the primary reasons for its establishment. It is the most advanced city in the world and its technology is said to be 30 years ahead of the world.
Academy City is composed of 23 districts, called School Districts which are simply numbered from one to twenty-three and each of these districts have a specific purpose.

The Ahnenerbe is a shop with two entrances located beside a cinema, and it exists in multiple locations, often appearing and disappearing. It also appears as a regular shop within different series, such as in Fate, where it is located near the large bridge in Fuyuki City. There is a rumor that people who under normal circumstances cannot meet each other are able to meet inside. It is the frontier where the worlds of Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai meet. Shiki Tohno and Shiki Ryougi, and Arcueid Brunestud and Touko Aozaki, are all related people that cannot be inserted together in a formal time axis without causing inconsistencies in the workings of either world. When characters from different works meet in this shop, any time discrepancies are eliminated so that they can appear at the age that they were introduced. It is convenient both as a place where parallel worlds meet and as a shop where a certain man with glasses can bring a girl.

Amestris is a Unitary State, with a population of about 50 million and a Parliamentary Republic type of Government. The Head of State is the Commander-in-Chief of the Military who holds the title of "Führer" who concentrates the ranks of Head of State and Head of Government.
It seems the country was composed by several former nations, quite diverse in culture and religion, but incorporated by the expanding state of Amestris. The administrative regions of the country seem to reflect those differences. The country has five administrative divisions: South Area, West Area, North Area, East Area and Central Area.
The East Area is the most diverse, sheltering a nation of a different ethnicity called Ishval. The province of Ishval is ethnically and culturally different of the rest of the country: the people there being religious; most of them renounce alchemy, which brought many conflicts with the Central Government in the past and has culminated in the Ishval Civil War.

The Inu no Taish?'s tomb, also known as the grave of Inuyasha and Sessh?maru's father, was not really a grave at all, but rather the giant skeletal remains of Inu no Taish?. The gateway to his tomb was hidden in a black pearl, which was inside of Inuyasha's eye. The location was kept hidden from his oldest, full demon son Sessh?maru, and at the beginning of the series, we were introduced to Sessh?maru as he hunted for the location of his father's grave; the Tessaiga was kept here.
The Inu no Taish?'s tomb took the form of an enormous dog-like skeleton with armor on the shoulders and on the chest. According to My?ga, this was his true form.

The Abyss is the deepest level of the Astral Plane, called "Hell" or the "Void" by some. This realm is the polar opposite of the World of Ideas, where souls that have accepted death without any lingering regrets or attachments eventually pass on to. Not much is known of the Abyss save that it's located underneath the realm of the God Hand and is the home of the Idea of Evil. Because of the nature of this layer, any form of individuality is purged, as the spirits of the dead all form an interconnected chain. The chain usually appears whenever an Apostle dies, emerging from the death wound to cover the body before retracting with the Apostle's soul, while the body is reverted to its original human state. It does not appear to be Hell in the traditional sense, as in, a place of punishment or torment, but rather a place where souls are lost in the amalgam of space and matter within it. Those that make sacrifices to the God Hand, and others who deal with demons (which usually includes the victims of those same Apostles) are taken here when they die.

The Lemon Beach House also commonly referred to as the Lemon or simply Lemon is the place where it all began. This is where Ika made her first appearance, declaring it as her base of operation due to it being the closest to the beach. Lemon serves as the main setting for the Shinryaku! Ika Musume story (for both manga and anime - despite the fact that Aizawas' place is also used more often in the manga).
Initially Ika spent her days after trying to invade living at the Lemon. However, after the TV broke, Chizuru invited her to spend a night at Aizawas' place. That one night continues infinitely as the Aizawas begin to accept Ika as part of family. All the staff members including aims wear a yellow uniform.

Students are only accepted after passing an entrance exam, requiring them to prepare a dish under a specific theme and pass the exam proctor's judgment.

The "GeoFront" is the publicly used term to describe a massive subterranean cavity, specifically the GeoFront underneath Tokyo-3 (site of pre-Second Impact Hakone). However, unknown to the public is that the GeoFront is actually not a naturally occurring structure, but the "Black Moon" of the Angel Lilith. Also unrevealed to the public was that there was actually another GeoFront discovered in Antarctica, identical to the first: the "White Moon" of Adam. The Nerv Headquarters building complex was built in the center of the GeoFront, and indeed the entire Nerv HQ complex and support city of Tokyo-3 were built in Hakone so that they could be constructed around the GeoFront, containing Lilith.
The GeoFront was originally a massive sphere, 13.75 km in diameter, though over time it filled with earth and debris from landslides; by the present day, only a small fraction at the top has not been buried, which forms a dome-shaped cavern underground. When Nerv HQ was being built, some further excavation was performed to add in access tunnels, monorails and car trains leading to the surface, etc.

There are several different administration offices in Kamisu 66, most of which are headquartered in the center of the town. They are known by various names such as committees, boards and divisions, and their structure is unclear; those not mentioned are presumed to be directly under the Ethics Committee.

Millennium was founded before the end of World War II, by "Hitler's Special Order #666", as a means of researching and using supernatural phenomena for military purposes. In 1944, their grand project of creating a vampire army was foiled by a 14-year-old Walter C. Dornez and his accomplice, Alucard (a little girl living the dream). In 1999 Walter and Alucard claim to have "killed everyone there" and put an end to their experiments, but exactly what happened during these events remains unknown.

The SOS Brigade (Spreading Cheer to Our Student Body Brigade or Spreading Excitement all Over the World with Suzumiya Haruhi Brigade as it was initially called) is a club created by the infamous student Suzumiya Haruhi (suspected to be a Yakuza) at North High in May of year 0.
The club is not an official school club; it has a constitution and the five members required to form an official club, but is not sponsored by a teacher. The club acts out of the Literature Club headquarters, but replaced its sign with the SOS Brigade sign.

Alter user: Alter Users are people who have developed a power granting them the ability to deconstruct, reshape, and crystallize matter at a molecular level using only thought and willpower. These people have come to be known as "Alter" users. With only 1% (2% in the manga) of the newborn generations receiving such special power, though this number rises steadily as the series progresses, and some feel a superiority over normal humans.

Ouran Academy (also known as Ouran Elite Private Academy) is a prestigious private school located in Bunky?, Tokyo, Japan. The school is attended primarily by children of the rich and famous (children of prominent families, business magnates, politicians, celebrities, etc.). Haruhi Fujioka is from a middle-class family which, to students accustomed to wealth, makes her seem poor in comparison. Ouran Academy houses five different divisions:Kindergarten, Elementary School, Middle School, High School and College/University. Although these four divisions are all located on the same campus and students are free to move about, they tend to remain near the area of their classes.
Ouran Academy is also widely known by its students as being the home of the Ouran Host Club, an enormously popular and influential club located in Music Room #3 of the High School building.

King City was not always located in this district, as it was previously located at the district of the current Werebeast embassy to Imanity, when Elchea was still a very large kingdom. It was forced to shift when the Werebeasts won over most of Elchea's territory, which was bet by the former king of Imanity.

Sidonia is a sterile, a futuristic wonderland. Humans are genetically engineered to survive using photosynthesis, and procreate asexually or by utilizing cloning. The highest members of society have even managed to achieve immortality. But the technical wonders don’t stop there; the Sidonia also houses the enormous mechs known as Gardes that are utilized by pilots in the city’s defense. If that wasn’t enough to set it apart, the lunch lady is a friendly bear with a hook for a hand.

The Blue Sea is a huge body of water spanning across the entire world of One Piece. Nearly everything in the world can be found on the Sea, save for sky islands such as Skypiea and Weatheria.
The Sea itself is divided into five oceans by the Red Line and the Calm Belts: Northblue, Southblue, Eastblue, Westblue and Grandblue.
The main governmental body of the Blue Sea is the World Government which currently exercises control over a hundred-seventy countries. The Revolutionary Army is the main force opposing the World Government and they control multiple islands including Baltigo and Momoiro Island. The Yonko are the four strongest pirates who rule over the New World.
Moving from one section of the Four Blues to another is no easy task, as they are separated by the Red Line, which would entice a full-voyage to go through.

The Shadow Realm was alleged to be a place of eternal suffering where people could be sent to, When a death would occur it would send the victim to the Shadow Realm. The concept is also mentioned in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
Shadow Games were depicted as occurring in another dimension purported to be the Shadow Realm. It was this dark dimension (so named by Maximillion Pegasus) that formed the basis for the Shadow Realm.
When wagering a Duel in the Shadow Realm, Summoning and maintaining a monster requires energy. The more monsters, the more energy it seems to require. In Yugi Muto and Pegasus's final Duel, Yami Yugi had to take over for the large portion because of the strain it had caused Yugi. In Joey Wheeler and Yami Marik's Duel, Joey would have won if he hadn't collapsed after the attack of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" took away the rest of his stamina.

The "Underworld" is roughly the same size as the human world but with a much larger landmass, as there are no oceans. The sky is originally purple during both the day and night but the current Four Great Satans adjusted the flow of time to match in the human world for the sake of the reincarnated Devils. They reproduced an artificial moon using Demonic Powers and made the night's darkness the same with the human world.
The Underworld was always originally split into two regions: The Devils' Region and the Fallen Angels' Region, which ended in Volume 4 after the creation of the peace treaty between the leaders of the Three Factions. Locations include Lilith(capital), Lucifaad(original capital), Agreas(popular island city), Auros(town), Gremory territory, Realm of the dead (Reapers and Hades reside here), Purgatory, Limbo,(edge of Underworld) Malebolge and Cocytus which is the deepest part of the underworld.

The Garden of Eden where the legend of Adam and Eve began. This is the place where the Trees of Life and Wisdom reside.
Fifth Heaven
Former home of the members of Grigori, before they fell. Now filled with research institutes where the Brave Saints were created.
Sixth Heaven
Known as "Zebel". The current core of Heaven where the Seraphs such as Michael and Gabriel reside.
Seventh Heaven
Home to the Sacred Gear System, and God's System. Also, where the God of the Bible once resided in Heaven.
