Any recently good cyberpunk anime lately? Or has Japan given up on writing and making anything original?

What's that you say sonny? Stop making the same thing every year and make something original? With a possibility of cutting into sales? I say no thank you sir.
Request threads are banned, newfag. Fuck off back to wherever you came from and don't come back.
Animes a dead media to make anything unique and original anymore.
But to answer your question no the last original cyberpunk anime was Psycho-Pass I believe
>Or has Japan given up on writing and making anything original?
Why are you talking about?
There's only "deep", "intellectually challenging" anime shows with "high quality" animation, "good writing" and original and enjoyable plots coming out from Japan.
What.
>Any recently good cyberpunk anime lately?
Yeah, Blade Runner Black Out 2022
He's using "quotes" to be "sarcastic" to an "obnoxious" "extent."
>cyberpunk
>new and original
You're a complete and utter faggot.
This movie was fantastic just watched it this weekend. Some of my favorite cyberpunk anime was the original Ghost in the Shell and Serial Experiment Lain.
After having watched this though, I think it surpasses both.
Nothing new worth a shit though. Like someone else above me said if you haven't already seen the prequel to this movie, Bladerunner blackout 2022 you should watch it. Next year there's a few adaptions and original anime coming out that might be in a similar vein to Bladerunner. Beatless, Incarnation, and B the Beginning
Not him but I haven't been to a theater to see a Hollywood movie in years but 2049 actually got me to theater and I'm glad I went.
It was a fucking treat from start to finish. I'd imagine most relevant/big Japanese directors will be catching it as well.
Very cool and I bet it was a good movie. But it wasn't new or original.
>But it wasn't new or original.
I'd love for someone to point me to something that just like it.
By the time the credits role there's no other sci-fi media out there with a similar script or that makes you ask and wonder the questions it poses on the viewer
Pandora wad pretty fun.
Read a fucking book
The first Blade Runner movie? I don't know, still haven't watched this one, might go to the theater on saturday. I'm just assuming is at most a fun different take on the first movie
The last really good one was Pandora in the Crimson Shell.
It was at least funny I guess.
Wish there was more story driven cyberpunk anime these days.
Japanese are great with coming up with original ideas. They're terrible at execution and directing.
Psycho-Pass is my example.
Psycho Pass i guess
>Japanese are great with coming up with original ideas.
Psycho Pass's original idea is basically a rip off of Minority Report. Which ironically is the same dude responsible for Blade Runner.
Phillip K Dick is the one that came up with all these "original" ideas that people have been copying for decades.
And Phillip K Dick was on so much meth he was convinced there were angel assassins sent by God coming to murder him. Truly a once in a generation visionary.
