BLEACH

So why didn't Ichiruki happen?

Did Kubo want to purposely kill his manga?

Did his wife make him do it?

Probably because no sane person cares about shipping.

Because a male and female being close does not mean they are in love with each other. Ichihime was the end game for a long while and you had to have been blind to miss it.

Yeah but RENJI?

FUCKING RENJI

disgusting

What's wrong with the Pineapple?

>letting the childhood friend win
Kubo did what most mangakas don't. The pairings are all great, deal with it.

Think about it. Rukia is pretty much ageless, Ichigo isn't. Kubo is way too shit a writer to go for something like that. Also they hadn't interacted for like half the manga by the end of the series.

Shit pairing.

Because it's a meme pairing. The only people who legitimately thought this shit pairing would happen are dumblr landwhales. That said, It's also no wonder ircucks believed Ichiruki was ever a thing when the bnfs of their fandumb clinged to non canon material, lies, misinterpreted poems/color spreads, giving their followers false hope.

It was dead literally at the second episode

but they had english degrees

I don't give a fuck. Better question yet: WHERE IS MY GOAT?

>The pairings are all great,
The pairings are all terrible no two characters in the entire series had good romantic chemistry.

Redhead and the Bat kind of had it, but it started only a few minutes before the Bat has died.

She shows up in the Hisagi novel alongside Grimmjow and Tier.

UM. what? bleach is still a thing?

I was so mad at the ending that I've drooped it entirely.
Better check it, then.

Here's the link to the novel: missstormcaller.tumblr.com/CFYOW

Nelliel shows up in the prologue. The novel's pretty good, you should check out the whole thing.

Orihime isn't his childhood friend, Tatsuki is.
Orihime's just some slut who projected her dead brother onto Ichigo.

How

Thank you. I will check it out.
I'm pretty sure that he was talking about Renji.

How what?

There's two mobile games with a third one coming out soon, an upcoming live-action film, another Can't Fear Your Own World novel and Kubo's going to a convention in Italy.

Bleach isn't completely dead yet.

>I'm pretty sure that he was talking about Renji
Let's not forget Renji was happy about Rukia's execution back in the SS arc because he thought of her as a cunt who abandoned him for wealth and honor.
Some childhood friend.

>he thought of her as a cunt who abandoned him for wealth and honor.
in all fairness that's basically what she is.

i thought it died after the soul society arc desu

imo the ss arc is pretty overrated desu

yeah no shit.
there's nothing even good about it to begin with.

Meanwhile Renji in canon:
>Is worried about Rukia getting "20 years" added to her sentenced for even going near Ichigo.
>is confident Rukia's noble brother will use his power and status to get Rukia off the hook for her crimes.
>Is shocked when he hears that Rukia is to be executed from Byakuya's own mouth.
>Seeks revenge on Ichigo for causing Rukia's execution in the first place.

Your headcanons are a shit user-kun.

People were harassing him on Twitter saying Orihime is a useless character and he should kill her, and he lashed back quite protectively, like any author would. He said if the haters don't leave him alone he's just going to draw more Orihime to spite them.

So I think that's the reason.

Going by the one shot, IchiRuki was never going to happen. It's mostly shippers who haven't watched buddy cop movies in their youth and couldn't read the dynamics between Ichigo and Rukia if their life depended on it. Didn't help that Kubo kept actual romantic development of any kind out of the main story, so it gave room for rampant shipperfaggotry. Didn't help either that the anime also gave romantic bait were none was intended by Kubo, either because the crew were shipperfaggots themselves or because they were desperate for content of any kind to make up their filler shit, while stalling for the manga to get anywhere with the story.

>Didn't help either that the anime also gave romantic bait were none was intended by Kubo, either because the crew were shipperfaggots themselves or because they were desperate for content of any kind to make up their filler shit

This.
That hugging scene in the hell movie. The hand holding scene after the Grimjow fight. That entire episode after Ichigo lost his powers that was basically literally a Rukia date episode.

The shipping war in Bleach was deliberately generated to get people to talk about to show.

>That hugging scene in the hell movie.
You mean Fade to Black.

But yeah, the anime is really obnoxious with it's ship-baiting, especially with Ichiruki. SP made it seem like there was some sort of love triangle when Kubo actually mocked that shit in his own manga.

>People were harassing him on Twitter saying Orihime is a useless character and he should kill her, and he lashed back quite protectively, like any author would. He said if the haters don't leave him alone he's just going to draw more Orihime to spite them.
So the IRfags are to blame for the death of their own shit ship.
Oh the irony.

>tfw we mightlve had a nice everyone dies or villain wins ending instead of something gay like being married with kids if Kubo didn't have to go around spiting people

>So why didn't Ichiruki happen?
You really think he would have bothered writing Orihime if he wasn't creating a wife for his self insert MC?

he inserts as Mayuri though

Because the anime conjured that up to write their own narrative. It's not the first time that the anime screwed things up:

>continuity errors only found in anime
>filler arcs plaguing and killing the anime
>filler bleeding into the canon to confuse people
>paradox time frames added in the anime
>movies pushing Ichiruki together like the infamous Fade to Black movie.

The anime was playing you like a fiddle OP. Bleach's author even said he didn't do love triangles in the manga.

Mayuri is his favorite character though. =/

Because it was never a thing. Not even in the pilot. You don't even need to read the interactions between Ichigo and each girl to tell which one he would end up with, the character design alone was enough. I don't understand how anyone could look at the designs of both Rukia and Orihime, and honestly think Rukia was the love interest.

Kubo's real self insert is Yhwach.
The sunglasses and author powers gave it away.
Him getting literally FRESH'd at the end was his way of saying he got axed by jeweisha.

>tfw the Bleach anime died from its overwhelming amount of filler content.

Years later and I'm still sad.

I bet a million bucks that Kubo was forced to draw this spread. It wouldn't be the first time he was told to draw something a certain way.

I'm kinda sad that back then, the general practice was to keep the anime going at any cost, even if it means stretching content and fucking up the pacing or doing entire arcs of filler.

I like the current approach better, where we get 1-2 cours of anime and then take a break until more material is available. Still plenty of opportunities to fuck things up, but at least filler and wonky pacing can be kept to lower levels than back in the day.

I'm not sure it was the same people. I was totally in for IR but I wasn't trolling Orihime fags or Kubo, and I didn't actually hate Orihime as a character. I thought her whole backstory and how she overcome it was really interesting and made her a sort of strong character. I think that came out most when she told Riruka about it.

Haters will just hate, user. And Bleach seem to have made a lot of people insecure for some reason.

>you mean Fade to Black

No I meant this one, from the hell movie.

I'd actually bet he was forced to draw that entire ending the way he did because of wsj's big tits housewife social engineering and how otakus don't want to start a family so their entire culture is just slowly aging away and dying. What, like 40% of the youth is asexual? So the kid's gonna end with the tuna because that's the expectation of the culture.

>Bleach: 45% filler content
>Naruto: 43% filler content
>Naruto Shippuden: 44% filler content

So Bleach dies from filler overkill but the Naruto anime continues on just fine despite getting just as much filler? Fuck you, Studio Pierrot.

>One Piece: 13% filler content
>out of over 800 episodes

.........How???/?

I actually think the whole happily married with kids ending was what he wanted. I just think the journey getting there didn't go as planned, meaning all the dropped plot points and all that. I'm 100% sure that the epilogue chapters would've have been better received if Kubo

>explained the SK
>gave us a good final fight
>featured the missing characters in the last two chapters instead of leaving their fates to be revealed in novels

I know there's a long list of dropped "plot points" but so much of that list is made up of fan theories that go too out of hand.

That's not really a problem though so it was obvious Kubo was going for the Ichihime route. Ichiruki filler was a problem because it wasn't going to happen in the canon manga, and fans were just going to be left confused.

Maybe because One Piece is the slowest paced show ever aired?

>One Piece: 13% filler content
>out of over 800 episodes
They splice in time wasters to canon events. Every time someone does something, nearby characters react for at least 30 seconds. There has been entire episodes where nothing actually happened. From what I hear, its gotten worse from when I stopped watching.

>bleach axed meme

The OP anime is abysmally paced, that's how. 13& does seem a bit low though. Do they only count entirely original episodes?

Padding. To avoid Filler, Toei makes one chapter into one episode and fucks the pacing to hell and back. The manga at this point only has 881 chapters but the anime has 807 episodes, like FUCK, this shit made me appreciate filler, that's how bad it is.

Final arc animated when?

>animefillerlist.com/shows/one-piece

The list seems to count episodes with mostly filler content as a filler episode.

Either way, it's really surprising how such a long-running show has so little filler, even with the anime's issues with pacing and padding.

Because I stopped it from happening

It's a matter of information density. A random One Piece page is just as dense information wise as a full chapter of Bleach. Sometimes 2.
>bleach chapter: wow this guy made a swoosh with a sword i thought he was weak but turns out he's really strong
>one piece chapter: Assasination plan fails because of BM's scream which breaks the mirror and everyone's escape route with it so Bege activates his ability but that's useless because Mochi guy already blocked the canons so they attempt to escape but Mochi guy blocks their path with his mighty crotch but it's okay because the spy bullied the guy who found the tamatebakko so he drops it and the castle explodes

Go away Forneverworld. Your post about the fat art of Ichigo and Goku were disgusting as all shit and not funny. I'm still pissed that my twitter feed showed me that shit.

If I want fan art wank porn, I go to deviantart myself.

I KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE JAMES HANSON

One Piece is the number one manga in Japan. It's DBZ syndrome where they would waste entire episodes on stalling to power up.

Bleach anime was faster paced but absolute shit at continuity as seen here

>this shit made me appreciate filler, that's how bad it is.

Yeah, with filler episodes, you can at least ignore those or drop them from your viewing list, but the way Toei does One Piece, you're forced to put up with the garbage, because in between, the actual story is mixed in and you end up with canon stuff that's stretched beyond recognition. Too bad Pretty Cure keeps Toei afloat.

Please don't bring in Forneverworld and James Hanson into this. It's annoying when the constant joke is "BLEACH IS DEAD!!!!! LOLLMAO!!!!"

It's annoying as all fuck

...

Dude seriously stop. It's fucking stupid and shitty trolling.

...

I'm reporting you for spam dude.

...

Stop.

...

Because Kubo didn't want Ichigo to die at the end, which is what would be required if they were to end up together.

B-B-But muh Soul Tickets!

>that orihime
>that kon
>that ichigo
did kubo really draw this?

I think he was just having a chuckle. It doesn't look at all serious.

Source?

Wasn't that plan C though?

>plan A is protect Soul King
>plan B is to have Mimihagi replace Reio even if he is absorbed by Juha Bach
>Plan C is Ichigo becomes the new Reio
>Plan D is..... Aizen?

a fan supposedly got kubo to draw this for them at some con, but everyone but dog/nel look off.

Yes. He was drawing cosplayers.

>He was drawing cosplayers.
oh so thats why ichigo looks ugly

>The cosplayers who amazed me and whom Im sure everyone present remembers.

>At left is Ichigo. His homemade zanpakuto looked to weigh about 40 kilograms. When I tried to lift it, I could barely manage, but this powerful guy never put it down! Next to him at the autograph session was this unbelievably cute Orihime. Then comes a very cool Neliel, with a costume perfect from head to foot! (That was fast!! Has Neliel even appeared yet in Americas Shonen Jump?) Next is Komamura, who was created right down to the fierce facial expression under his helmet. (When he took off his helmet, he really set the crowd to buzzing!) Next came a fan in a homemade animal suit of Kon. (The way the head was so loosely joined to the body was really cute

A lot of Ichirukifags thought that Shunsui's Soul Tickets was Kubo telling the audience that Ichigo will end up becoming too powerful to live in the Human World and would have to stay in Soul Society. IRfags ate up that theory because they thought that that happening would guarantee them an IchiRuki end. But the CFYOW novel reveals that Shunsui was planning on replacing Ichigo as a new Soul King, not having Ichigo live in Soul Society and ending up with Rukia as so many IRfags wanted.

>replacing Ichigo as a new Soul King
Sorry, I meant "turning Ichigo into another Soul King".

i miss Aizen-sama EVERY SINGLE DAY
post aizen

>because the crew were shipperfaggots
They definitely were
youtube.com/watch?v=gyWSiBms6N8

Threadly reminder that when the series was originally coming out, most of Sup Forums unironically shipped IchiRuki and that most of the anons who bash it now are contrarian faggots or newfags

the anime had some pretty great OPs and EDs.

>writer lets his fanbase trigger him into changing his story

If that isn't a sign of shitty writing then I don't know what is

>Implying that the anime producers weren't planning on going for the IR endgame despite whatever Kubo was going to do

I honestly wouldn't be surprised in the least if the anime were to come back that it would have an IchiRuki ending, then both groups of shipping fags are happy and the show can sell more merchandise, keep people engaged with new content etc.

>Wanting a bossy bitch like Rukia

Kubo didn't change anything. Ichihime was in the fucking pilot chapter.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Despite all the Ichiruki filler, they also started to add Ichihime filler scenes as well.

Kazui and Ichika was the main focus of the last chapter so I doubt Kubo would let them scrap the kids.

>focus of the last chapter

not that user, but it's not like those two kids have impact on the plot, the story would be the same in the end even if Ichigo died, the last chapter was mostly a Harry Potter esque epilogue

I wish more authors would leave their story endings ambiguous as far as shipping bullshit is concerned because like it or not, the ending to Bleach pissed off a lot of people for shipping reasons alone and it unnecessarily tarnishes a story

>Ichihime was in the pilot

Maybe the culture is different in Japan, but Orihime's affection came off as stalkerish for a lot of the story because it wasn't (clearly) reciprocated

>I actually think the whole happily married with kids ending was what he wanted
It's OOC for Kubo to do that when all his other shit ended on a depressing note.
Seems pretty obvious he went with the shipper ending to either spite people or abide by editor-kun's words because otherwise, soul king Ichigo or universal reset feel like the most plausible outcomes given the general tone and themes of the series.
There was even build up to Ichigo's eternal demise and the fall of soul society's system of bullshit.
>Kubo didn't change anything. Ichihime was in the fucking pilot chapter
Does that really count when Orihime got murked in that?

>but it's not like those two kids have impact on the plot
Kazui literally destroyed the left-over Yhwach. Also, the "Death and Strawberry" title was for their meeting which is pretty big deal considering it was the final chapter of a series that went on for over 10 years.

>inb4 the final chapter was titled for ichigo and rukia
No, it wasn't. It was confirmed that Rukia and Renji do visit the human world, and the title doesn't drop until after Kazui and Ichika meet.

>but Orihime's affection came off as stalkerish for a lot of the story
Literally what? Orihime has never acted as a stalker when it came to Ichigo, or any other character in general.

>There was even build up to Ichigo's eternal demise and the fall of soul society's system of bullshit
Remember when there was build up to Orihime being the final boss of the mexico arc?
Neither does Kubo

>pic
what the fuck did she mean by this

>when all his other shit ended on a depressing note.
Wow, it's almost as if mangakas can end their different works in different ways.

>Seems pretty obvious he went with the shipper ending to either spite people or abide by editor-kun's words because otherwise, soul king Ichigo or universal reset feel like the most plausible outcomes given the general tone and themes of the series.
Now you're just pulling shit from out of your ass.

>Does that really count when Orihime got murked in that?
I don't think it really matters. I mention the pilot because it shows that Kubo had them like each other back in the pilot meaning that Ichigo x Orihime was always an option despite what certain fans might say.

that Rukia's inferior

>Wow, it's almost as if mangakas can end their different works in different ways
You really think a cynical guy like him would think of giving his punching bag of an MC the good end just for the sake of trying something different?
>Now you're just pulling shit from out of your ass
Elaborate nigger
>I don't think it really matters. I mention the pilot because it shows that Kubo had them like each other back in the pilot meaning that Ichigo x Orihime was always an option despite what certain fans might say.
I see.
When you think about it the soul king Ichigo ending would actually make a nice parallel to the series pilot.
It's a much more obscure referemce than the lousy death and the strawberry one but much more meaningful for actual fans.
