Do you watch anime on your desktop or on your TV?

Do you watch anime on your desktop or on your TV?

Also, do you differentiate between films and shows?

27" 1080p monitor

i dont watch anime

Desktop so that I can shitpost on Sup Forums while watching CGDCT

>Sup Forums
>watching anime

On my phone.

Please delete this post.

On a streaming site with my game console. I also post on this site through that browser as well.

TV when I'm downloading something big and can't use the internet.

Phone while at work.

Desktop. Can't read subs if they're too far away when you have shitty eyesight, even with correction.

I buy film scans and then hold the film up to the light and move it to the side at 24fps

>not desktop hooked up to TV

Projected 100% authentic Japanese wall.

Both, just depends on the environment. When I watch anime on the TV it’s not like I don’t still use my laptop given that I just connect via HDMI anyway, so I just alternate randomly. If I’m watching a movie though, I’ll definitely watch it on TV.

Have a FreeNAS server installed with Plex Media Sever and I watch on a TV using the media player. Works pretty good.

Isn't it a pain to type on your gaming console?

On my 48" TV.

Yes you can, unless it's really shitty.

I mostly watch on my tv via my Wii U

Usually on my phone, but also on my laptop.

Modern anime: 32" 1080p HDTV connected to my PC
Old anime: 19" CRT set to 480p

My condolences.

I hook up my Laptop to my 58" 4K Samsung TV and watch it there.

>Not re-drawing each frame on papyrus paper and flicking through them to the sound of a japanese podcast.

Bluetooth keyboards aren't that expensive and are a worthy investment if you use any modern console as an entertainment platform beyond games.

On my 32" tv which I've been using as my pc monitor for years now.

On desktop when I'm at home, or on a tablet when I'm commuting.

i dont even own a tv.

On my PC. I don't even have a TV.

I don't watch anime. I am anime.

55 4k curved screen only poor faggots use monitors or phones

>Watch it on my computer
>Only one earbud to hear for intruders
>Glancing at the door occasionally
>Holding the mouse over the close button at all times
Please end my paranoid suffering

Spoken like a true millennial.

Move out of your parents' house.

>millennial
A really true millennial don't have/use a pc.

...

Phone because most of the time i can't sleep for shit
Pc if im watching with a friend or if it's a movie

I use my desktop to watch it on my TV.

In my smart phone.

126" projector home theater setup

There are so many people watching anime on their phone ITT. Why?

Normalfags.

Nu-Sup Forums.

I used to watch stuff on my TV. Had a HDMI cable from desktop to TV and the TV was in front of my bed.

Then I moved out from my parents home 2 months ago and I no longer have a TV in the same room as my bed. As a result I'm watching much less anime, because it's not as comfortable watching anime on the couch compared to watching it in bed. And sitting up while watching anime to watch it on my desktop is something I rarely do anymore because fuck sitting up.

Should've figured that out, it's embarrassing me now.

Depends. Desktop mostly, maybe with my phone is I'm bored as fuck. Sometimes I take a look for some anime in netflix.

Anime aren't good enough to watch them in a bigger screen.

>projecting

temporary setup but will put it up on the wall eventually

whats wrong with projecting?

bed

>It's nothing mom! I was just watching porn!

In bed on my tv.

Woah, nice artwork you have framed there.

Maybe they're really poor?

im just fucking with you.
have home projectors come any further in the last years?

60" TV. It's much better to be able to sit on a sofa than an office chair.

I'd watch it on my television but I live in a ghetto with paper thin walls.
If I started watching anime, my whole apartment complex would know it and then I'd lose all my street cred.

Why not just close the door?

Doesn't it produce faded colors?

4k is almost affordable now. Short throw is coming a long way. High refresh rate probably never.

>what are headphones

And what are you even doing here if you don't watch anime

Where my projector homies at?

>Watching television with headphones
I do watch anime, but I watch it on my PC with headphones. I'm not sure how you came up with the idea that I don't.

thanks, got about 5 more I want to frame at some point, they are all some limited run from type moon 2-3 years back

yeah its nice for movies but sucks for games

Projectors don't look nearly as bad in real life as they do in images, do they?
I've thought about buying one but shit's expensive.

Another user here. You could buy a extension cable for your headphones.

Black people love anime. I'm willing to bet every negro in your apartment complex wishes they were Goku. It's a perfect opportunity to introduce them to more degenerate things and end up with a little black imouto that calls you onii-chan.

Have you ever been to a theater?

My 55" 4k that's hooked up to my PC. Or on my phone if I'm tired laying in bed. And before the trigger posts come in >what is teamviewer

not with a decent projector in a properly dark room. They look terrible in pictures because of the physics behind how they work. You can see the rain-bowing in my pic here due to the RGB filters being passed over the bulb. Next to my LG ultrawide (a very accurate monitor) sure you can tell the colors are a little washed out but without a reference you would never be able to tell.

No bother but holy shit user. Where did you find these? They're so damn nice.

Sometimes my TV, sometimes my monitors and sometimes my tablet in bed. It depends on how comfortable I feel like being and what kind of show.

This
I can't watch an entire show in one night

It's hard to get a good picture. It looks much better in real life.

Projectors nowadays are like TVs. Mine has casting and bluetooth to hook up to my home setup. I just use my phone as my remote.

I say they're worth it if you have the right room to set it up.

>comparing a movie theater projector to a home theater projector

Normally I watch it on my monitor. But my Pc died last month and now I am stuck with this shitty old laptop so I have to watch stuff on my phone.

I always watch on TV with headphones. That way I don't bother the neighbours and don't have to hear their noise.

When I watch anime by myself, I watch it on my laptop.
When I watch anime with friends I watch it on my TV.

Clever. I might have to get some wireless headphones for late night anime watching.

Tv via plex.

my 2nd monitor is a TV so that or my monitor

>whats wrong with projecting?
-need to have the room darkened - totally dark if you want the same kind of contrast you can get on literally any TV (if there's any light in the room, you get )
-need to have the room set up a particular way with the projector on one wall and a screen on another wall (you can put a TV pretty much anywhere, though)
-bulbs have a limited lifespan and you lose picture quality long, long before the bulb formally burns out
-depending on the model, the fan can be pretty loud; in close quarters, that can be distracting from the quiet moments
-you'll probably have some issues with keystoning; although projectors are better at correcting for this nowadays than before, it's going to mostly be a matter of you not configuring it perfectly

I've tried projectors. They're cool in a limited context. If you want to set up a home theater in your basement, it's probably the best way to get a giant screen suitable for viewing a movie with a lot of people together. They are a lot less practical to put in your home office or your bedroom because, though, because you CAN'T just watch things on them any time of the day and have an enjoyable experience. You may not notice it at first, but it's really inconvenient to always have to darken your room when you want to watch an anime episode.

Yes.
Also I seriously hope you're watching it in a 24Hz compatible mode.

Mostly on the TV. Sometimes on my desk if I can't be arsed to set up my TV after class or work, and sometimes on my phone if I don't want to get out of bed.

They're not hugely different. Theater projectors are brighter, but that's because they're illuminating a much larger area. You can figure out your requirements by deciding how large you want your screen to be. Brightness over an area is measured in foot-lamberts (fL). 16 fL is considered ideal if your room is actually dark. It's the number theaters use. Having it too bright strains your eyes. You will need higher than that if you have ambient light, which you probably do. For reference your TV probably puts out somewhere between 60-120 fL. So you might want to shoot for that.

The formula for foot-lamberts is fL = lumens / screen area (in square feet). So you can figure out how many lumens you need your projector to output with Screen Area x foot-lamberts = lumens. As an example a 100" screen would be about 30 square feet, so you could have 30 sq ft x 60 fL = 1,800 lumens to be comparable to a TV. Or 30 sq ft x 120 fL = 3,600 lumens to be comparable to a bright TV.

Ebay is selling them for 40-100$ /piece but you can probably find them for about 1000-3000yen each on buyee if you type for them in moonrunes.
fuck I really want to frame them all but its 120$ for a frame because it dont have a standard size.

Usually on my TV with my computer hooked up to it.

On a laptop in bed like a master pleb

>but its 120$ for a frame
What the fuck, just learn how to make a frame. You can get glass, medium density fiberboard (mdf) for backing, wood for the frame, and spraypaint all for like $20.

Fuck off back to .

desktop? wtf is this 2004?

Watching anime on the big TV in my living room feels weird to me. Probably because I spent so long watching it on a monitor. It feels strangely more degenerate. But I'm probably nuts.

watching anime in public, browny?

I watch it on my rift

There's enough empty seats I can make sure no one can see what I'm watching.

>teach me sempai
but yeah im not going to buy frames at that price, at some point Im going to try and make frames.
but gonna finish pic related first

Chromecast to my TV.

My 55" LCD TV is my computer screen. So I Kissanime/torrent my anime there.
Before anyone rage, I bought enough 50$ VHS tapes back in the day to contribute the industry. I did my part.

I used to be like that when I first started living alone. Now the only reason I don't do it is if I am too lazy to walk a few meters.
