The problem that he's having is he's restricting things to universities period, and not places where he'd probably do much better as a bit of PR. You rally in the middle and sally out, you don't go balls out and head to the most contentious bit. He's breaking some important models, he's not really communicating much with people who fall in the Alt-Right spectrum to do anything very practical.
