There are as many people of Swedish and Norwegian origin living in the USA as they are in their nation of origin.

Germany and France are very closly related, so much that DNA Testing groups them into the same population family indistinguishable.
Even if france would not belong in there, so would be Cannada. Why do you think French is a official language in Cannada (Offical Languages Act of 1969)? because they are half french.
So here are the issues. French DNA is similar to German DNA.
Cannada is more French than it is Germanic.
