RobotxLaserbeam 32

3 year timeskip next chapter.
What are the odds this is getting cancelled? Cause this kinda reminds me of what happened to Ore Golazo.

I doesn't make sense at all. The volume sells well, rankings are not too bad, there's even a CM recently.

i dont think its doing that bad in the rankings. My thinking is that author doesn't want to tell the same story as Kuroko.
I think the whole" OOOOOOH WE'RE GOING TO KOSHIEN EVEN IF WE DIE!!!!!!" has been done 100 times at this point and he doesnt want to repeat it.
I can actually respect the guy if that was his thinking.

Have to be a legal adult for that homo relationship.

Most likely the author wants to end it himself. After reading how one of his editors played psycho games on him he doesn't want to do this shit anymore.

mangaka quits because of workplace bullying? that's a first for me

>3 year time skip
Why the fuck? That seems so strange.
What happened?

It's not getting the knife is it? How well does it place in rankings?

Its a rather interesting talk. Some of the more interesting bits include one question from the hosts about the one of the most difficult experiences Fujimaki has had in his career. His answer was "I cried when I was unable to draw manga". This was during the early parts of Kuroko. According to Fujimaki, if you consider each weekly chapter's story and overall components on a scale of 100 pts, having a chapter be 100pts is near impossible. Usually you're around 90pts, 80 if its a rough week. He says you can consider 60pts to be the line at which its okay to be printed in the magazine. This is usually a a self-imposed line as Fujimaki himself decides on the "marks" for each chapter. Once he was unable to get to that 60pts line and his editor also didn't give him the okay and due to the deadline, time was getting more and more shorter but he still couldn't draw a chapter up at that line. He was basically huddled up in the room and soon the clock became scary with each tick and this almost became too much and he then let out sobbing sounds, like a child, and was soon full out crying. He says, " A grown adult was letting out tears". Even then he didn't get any ideas right away but in the end was able to put something together and make it on time.

>3 year timeskip next chapter.
Is this a joke?

2/3
There was also a best three and the guest determines the theme and he determined it as the top 3 moments ( as in moments that stood out the most) with his first editor Mr.S.
Number 3 was back during the beginning stages of Kuroko. Fujimaki would work facing the wall and his editor would basically come to pick up the manuscript. One time, while waiting to pick it up, he was siting around and had a cutter in his bag and began playing/putting pressure on Fujimaki with it. This sound began scaring Fujimaki and he basically had trouble concentrating and called his editor out on it.

Number 2 is titled "Kabedon". During a meeting, an argument began between Fujimaki and S regarding the direction of the story and S basically snapped and yelled "Why won't you understand!?" and slammed the wall. Fujimaki was surprised and got a little put off as violence broke out and thought "What kind of person...". Eventually they both cooled their heads and reached an agreement though Fujimaki doesn't remember who's direction they went with.

Number 1 is titled "Hard pressing for gratitude". When changing editors, mangaka usually give a shikishi to their editors and then they meet with the new editor and all three of them talk in a cafe or some other place. S said "You got his far thanks to me so don't forget that". Fujimaki did feel greatful but once he's basically told this, he pulled back and didn't give the shikishi he had prepared. He gave every other editor a shikishi but he didn't give one to S. He still has that shikishi.

Later, a fan asks that since Fujimaki likes Majong, would he ever write a majong manga and he says he won't as you have to be very careful and grasp all the players and their moves and he tends to write rather haphazardly so it doesn't fit him. Towards the end, he says he usually thinks of the story while taking walks and once its mostly put together he'll come to the table.

3/3
Finally, when asked what Shonen Jump means to him he answers, "probably a different dimension". He says that its like going to a different dimension. He has few memories during the time of serialization. Once he ended the series and "came back", he felt lost about what happened in the world as they're constantly working almost cut off from the world but at the same time, after finishing a serialization, he felt a sense of missing something as well. The stimulus was almost a little too strong that you feel a sense of missing something. They joke and ask him if hes an "M" and he laughs and says maybe he is.

I was excited to see Robo learn about putting and everything technical about golf
And it just skips it? Huh??

holy shit, that's like downright abusive

It's a pretty boy sports manga, I doubt it's going to get cancelled so soon

>30 chapters in
>3 year timeskip
you've got to be fucking kidding me

...

To be fair doctor stone had a 3000 year timeskip

m8

This will turn into batoru manga

Please tell me the timeskip is because the author will take the professional route instead of making a manga about a high school club.

Volumes sales are double, triple that of KnY and HZ, its not getting canned if that is what you are alluding to.

Does anyone know how Hungry Marie ended?

Are there any fanarts?

Yeah, tag is ロボレザ.

There is, but not much.

So I just started watching initial D and I realized this is basically initial D golf edition.

I haven't read this series but judging by this
and that it is chapter 32, the author is probably out of ideas

Nah, author just want to scale the power level right. The power creep would be ridiculous in pro level if he didn't skip it.

Maybe it will be good. Maybe we can cut through the high school bullshit and go straight into PGA play.

>MC joined club and try to get the members acceptance arc.
>Suddenly 3 years timeskip

Yeah, the axe is coming

KnY? HZ?

He sounds like a complete faggot.
So this its why his works are fujofuel.

delusion

kek

She turned into a loli.

whoa, it already got cancelled? what a shame.

The sudden timeskip would be more acceptable if the opening pages of the first chapter alluded to older characters. Then you could have it set up as if it were a flashback arc up until now.

How were they separated?

>timeskip through highschool
was legitimately not expecting that
inb4 robo got an injury of some sort and isnt playing golf anymore
also, am i the only person who thinks this series could be improved by adding a love interest? im a romancefag anyway but i think it'd be funny to see robo's deadpan attitude mix with someone like that.
>it ended
fuck, i really like this author and liked the story, shame it got axed. reading beelzebub every week was comfy as fuck when it was still going on, hope he can get another steady series soon

The temple knights had a "incarnation medicine".

>adding a love interest
Not even a fujo, but useless girls who exist just to be the token shallow love interest of the protagonist are one of the worst things in any kind of fiction.

I mean it's cool, especially skipping all HS might be good.
Still it's clear as a day it was necessary since the powercreep in these 30 chap. was too absurd to keep it interesting during school tournaments.

The difference is Takumi had nothing he was bad at while Robo is garbage at putting and such

Another rival is what I was thinking

LMFAO

Fuck it, I'm glad they're skipping high school for once, fuck high school. Just think of how much the story can be expanded on a pro level.

I'm happy it won't be another high-school setting, it just seems kind of sudden is all.
Fujimaki definitely hadn't planned for this, at least not for long.

so this is not manga about schoolchildren with superpowers

>my editor yelled wah!

If it is adapted in anime, this chapter would be the end of episode 13 then?

we spent an entire volume meeting everyone in the club, and there was all that drama about Robo trying to earn his place in the club and make the training camp, and now it all basically gets thrown away. It's weird and if it weren't such a popular series I'd assume an early cancellation. I have to admit I'm a little bit disappointed. I wanted to see Robo improving his skills and rising in status within the club.

The author did say somewhere in a comment maybe that doing a series about golf is very difficult since it requires a lot of effort. I'll be very disappointed if he decides to abandon it, this is in no way an axe.

By effort I mean a lot of fucking research

>I wonder what will happen in the next three years~?
>THREE YEARS LATER
Like, fuck, I get not wanting to meander about as Robo gains basic experience, but Christ that was abrupt.

>ranks well
>sells extremely well
>just got an ad

>people think it's getting cancelled

no

youtube.com/watch?v=imcVPZy2EmE

Doing a golf series was his dream project, going into a serialization without some general plan for its overall narrative arc would be incredibly stupid for a veteran mangaka.

>3 year timeskip this early

Good thing I got off this ship weeks ago.

God damn it.

I thought MS was having a laugh with us but I guess it's real.

On the one hand, it feels rushed and out of nowhere. Kind of like a desperation move.

On the other, I'll be happy to leave high school and hundreds of pages of training arcs behind with a single panel.

Guess I'll stick around to see what happens with Robo Pro.

>What are the odds this is getting cancelled?
The latest volume has yet to reach 100k in sales despite the volume being out for 2 weeks already. You tell me.

Since when the second volume sell 80k in 2 weeks is something bad? Yaiba took 8 volumes to do that, and even Hinomaru is still selling 40k.

Yea my thoughts exactly. I still got high hopes. After seeing his ultimate rival become pro, what's the point of showing 3 years in hghschool facing jobbers? It makes sense in that regard. I'm glad it's not following the typical formula of sports manga.

Kimetsu no Yaiba sells 100k, RoboxLaserbeam 50k, Hinomaruzumo 30k.

This, I wasn't even caring too much about this manga but now I'll look forward to the rest, I'm glad the author decided to take the pro route.

Robot is in the upper 80's now, and close to reach the 100k, but I don't know how fujos will react if he goes the Pro route, they may not like it

As long as there is no designated female love interest, fujos will have a reason to follow sports shounen. Heck even the ones with prominent girl co-leads get some significant followership. It's all in how the boys relate to each other and Fujimaki seems to know what he's doing after the success of Kuroko. I think the choice of sport is hurting its sales more than lack of appeal to rotten women.

Doesnt seem to be hurting for sales with 80k at only v2.
