I do not know the individual but the Christian image emerged from the late Medieval era. The image is called the Eye of Providence. The triangle obviously representing the trinity, as is done with Christian artwork sometimes where God is given a triangular halo.

I don't believe in God, I never remember believing in God and I don't notice how my life is any different in any demonstrable way from all the religious people I know.
