There's definitely a lot of racism, but racial relations here are a bit different from the US. We didn't have a one drop rule and obviously we don't have an Anglo bias. So while society is pretty racist, the definition of white people is more lax and includes Southern Euro types and light mixes. Non-white races don't have a separate culture and neither do whites, there's nothing like ebonics here, everyone has the same culture, cultural differences are more due to social class. I'd say social class is way more important than race.
