Before I came to Sup Forums I wasn't into lolis. I am now.

No. All attempts at persuasion here are laughable.

I feel ill whenever I see pic related

People have made me lower my opinion on shows I already didn't like but I've never turned 180 on a series before.

Plenty. Even though not all of its points are accurate, that one Asuka copypasta made me put more thought into her character arc. I'm rewatching Eva now and I'm going to pay especially close attention to her this time. There are others but that's the most recent one.

Probably.

rewatching EVA after years of shitposting about it made it kinda weird, like everything was a meme but a lot of the negative stuff anons said wasn't there that much

I used to hate seeing JoJo related stuff but now that I've been watching it I think it's good, but only good because it has it's flaws like any other series.

I used to like Naruto

I used to like anime.

Free your mind from shitposting user. It's still possible to find legitimate discussion, even in Eva threads. And in the end, it's the show that matters.

>discussing a chuuni harem series
People really take EVA too seriously. What's wrong with admitting it's just a male fantasy with some pretentious christian imagery? Only sexually frustrated teenagers manage to miss the message of EVA. Probably because they're sexually frustrated but it's just as likely they're just too dumb to notice.

Also
>discussing anime on Sup Forums
That's what friends are for no?

I was gonna answer "of course!" but I'm struggling to recall of a time that's happened.

I used to think following shows with strangers on the internet didn't improve the overall experience.

>chuuni harem series
>male fantasy
Sounds like you're the one too dumb to understand Eva. I guess you must be a sexually frustrated teenager.

>no you
Just proving my point that you don't go to Sup Forums to discuss anime here because of childish retorts like that.

Sup Forums made me realize that Kill Me Baby is good

It's not. None of the girls like him. I just like the cool robots man.

No, I'm not a teenager from MAL so I watch things and judge them for myself.

What are you trying to say here?

What? Do you want actual discourse while discussing a medium that's far from deserving of it? Just relax and have fun instead of shitting up the place

Admonishing people for discussing an anime or "taking it too seriously" is normalshit behavior. It's not any better than name-calling.

>you're just shitposting
Duly noted. Thanks for time and again proving my point so eloquently.

Way to completely misrepresent my point. Strawman territory.

If you don't come here to discuss to anime and manga, what do you do? derail threads?

I used to not really mind Okada but now I can't stand her.

Constantly lurking and trolling Kemono Friends threads eventually got me to break down and actually watch it.
It was pretty good.

read the manga faggot

There's probably other examples, but the only one that comes to mind is being convinced on the "Rebuild of Evangelion is a sequel, not just a remake" theory. If you mean "I thought this series/character was shit before Sup Forums convinced me it's good (or vice versa)", then no. Never.

How new are you? Discussion on Sup Forums is impossible.

I don't hate the final confrontation of Monster quite as much.

It's not *impossible*, but all the memeing, shitposting and copypasta makes it fucking difficult.

I thought Rebuild WAS a sequel, are you telling me it isn't?

It just made sense to me that after the End of Evangelion...

Yes. Penguindrum was deep as fuck and I didn't understand a lot of the nuances, so I appreciated it a lot more after reading someone's explanations.

>I thought Rebuild WAS a sequel, are you telling me it isn't?
No, I'm saying it is, but I didn't think so at first.

Opposite here, I hate Jojo and the faggotry in the threads when the anime was ongoing made me hate it.

Had I not watched DR3 with J U Z O B R O S, I would've hated the character

I dare say it's impossible. That's why I only discuss people of my intellect, people I care about, people that take me seriously. Sup Forums is just a way to pass the time.

I know it sounds fedora-tier but it's simply the truth. Why bother with Sup Forums when you can just discuss it with friends instead? Even in the anime-original threads you have about a 3day window to actually discuss an episode. Not that anyone will actually reply to you. Perhaps our definition of what qualifies as a 'discussion' differs. Sup Forums is too fast-paced for a proper discussion to take place.

You dismissed the entire idea of discussing Evangelion based on it being a "chuuni harem series", which is an oversimplification at best and a brainless misunderstanding at worst. You explicitly said people take Eva too seriously. You dismissed anyone taking Eva seriously as simply being unable to admit that it's a "male fantasy", another braindead non-thought. And you cap it off by saying you should just go discuss anime with your friends. You are a normalfag. Please hang yourself.

I had the opposite experience with Shingeki no Kyojin, where I enjoyed the series at first but the fans were so insufferable that I felt compelled to photoshop their favorite characters into niggers and eventually lost interest in the series.

I never would've understood Princess Principal without Sup Forums's help

Dropped it at chapter 4
Some user told me that chapter 10 is fucking brutal and it stops being a cute yuri story like Gochiusa.
It's true and it just keeps going down.
It's like YuYuYu, but the ending is more brutal.
And no. The YuYuYu ending wasn't happy

Because all my friends are grown men that like other things, I find discussion here all the time, although it's mostly about the industry itself and imageboards don't lend itself to intellectual fedora-tier discussion that well anyway. This board has a lot of angry cuteposting monsters though.
Don't bother

>Why bother with Sup Forums when you can just discuss it with friends instead?
Oh, I do that too. But when there's a thread up on a series I have interest in, I like to take part (discussion aside, I do pick up a fair bit of information that way), and some level of discussion is sometimes possible. It's not as good or long as a proper discussion like I have with friends, but from time to time I am able to have a meaningful (if short) exchange of views with some other user.

I like the music

No, that's not what I did.

>all of my 'friends' except they're not
See. This is an issue on your end. I'd say find some real friends then.

>don't bother
This doesn't further the discussion in any way. It just makes you come of as insecure. It doesn't add anything to the thread.

Do you really think men in their 30s who really follow seasonal anime are easy to find, much less worth becoming friends with?

It's you that's undermining his hobbies. To answer your question: yes. Yes I do think that. Though you're 30 and you still watch anime? Man.

I'd say that I managed it, but honestly I made friends with them when we were all in our early 20s and were gathering together for access to VHS fansubs.

What's wrong with that?

Not a damn thing. I know people in their 60s who watch anime.

Just stepping in to say that you have autism and should stop posting immediately.

...

Oh. So because you know them that makes it okay? Got it. Makes sense.

Extremely intelligent post. Glad you are part of Sup Forums

Go be
>too intelligent
somewhere else.

You argue like a teenage girl throwing a hissyfit. The sarcasm doesn't make you sound as smart as you think it does. Stick to reddit, they may be more your speed.

Considering that he used male fantasy to dismiss something it might actually be a teen girl.

What's wrong with being older into anime? I am a public servant and it helps to unwind after all the horrible shit I've seen

>Oh. So because you know them that makes it okay? Got it.
No, you don't got it. If you like anime, that's fine, age is entirely irrelevant.

Sup Forums enlightened me on the wonders of the moe world.

Absolutely fucking disgusting.

>you argue like a girl
>girls
>arguing

Unironically not your safespace.

Write a novel about it.

>age is irrelevant
Age is inherently relevant.

Madoka Magica is the all time best anime series. Nothing even comes close.

I realized One piece is complete shit.

Why can you only talk about me in the third person? Too afraid to ask me if that's what I meant? I didn't dismiss Evangelion at all actually. That's just your projection. And no, I'm not a girl. Women don't understand art and anime is a industry aimed at straight males.

Can't even tell at this point.

You're not a girl, you're actually and unironically a fedora tipping autist.

You're just proving my point. Continue namecalling for all you care. It doesn't substitute for your lack of argument and anyone can see that.

Most recently, I thought Maid Dragon was cancer until I actually watched it. Now I get it

My general opinions have become much more mild. People here are either hyping things up or tearing things down. It makes the middle ground seem a lot more appealing.

>Age is inherently relevant.
How so? Why? Societal expectations about when you should have "outgrown" certain interests aside, why does being a certain age mean you cannot or should not enjoy watching, reading, or listening to certain things?

What?

The only correct thing said in the entire thread.

There's plenty of things you should outgrow.

>why can't
They can
>why should they not
Because they're past a certain age?

So your reply would be incorrect then? Going by your own logic if you catch my drift.

I'm pretty sure you guys have ruined any edgy character that I liked.

There's nothing wrong with liking edge.

Nigg/a/ please, Madoka is good but calling it the best of all time is openly admitting that you've never watched anything made before 2000, which is likely close to your birth year

I was vanilla when I started browsing Sup Forums but now I'm a literal bisex cuck

You were always a dumb faggot.

>There's plenty of things you should outgrow.
Of course there are. Shitting your pants, needing someone else to feed you, that kind of thing you should definitely outgrow. But in terms of entertainment? Not so much.

Sure you shouldn't *only* be consuming media "below" your level, but if a 30-year-old watches anime as well as films and TV aimed at their demographic, how is that a problem? If a 40-year-old mostly reads novels but really likes the illustrations in some picture book or other, how is that a problem? If a 50-year-old who listens to classical music is fond of a particular nursery rhyme, how is that a problem?

It's a sign of immaturity to think that someone should not like something, just because they're above the target age demographic.

Talking with waifufags generally makes me hate their waifu.

>hurrrr just because it's old it's good

I've seen it all and none of your old series stand a chance.

Sup Forums killed my blooming interest on anime

>Shitting your pants, needing someone else to feed you
Those are things you'll grow back into if you're lucky enough. This means that you should never outgrow them according to your logic.

Just throwing it out there. I'm sure the 60 year olds you know are a wonderful lot.

He was probably going to try saying Bebop or something was better. Typical fanboy lost in his daydream.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=YpuRcmPnSTM

I wasn't quoting anybody.

I know you weren't. Which is why I told you to learn how to do it first. You were daydreaming about something that didn't exist

I could have been talking about anyone user. You're just mad because you know exactly who I was talking to and in your desperation for an argument you're trying to change the subject.

The contents. Not the person is what we're talking about. It's your daydream.

Thanks for proving my point.

Why are you engaging the fedora? Just leave him alone for a few minutes and his mom will call him upstairs for dinner or something.

is food all you americans think about?

Thanks for proving my point

No problem because you just proved my point.

Yea, I used to think at some point that this was THE place to talk about anime. Turns out it's not, because you really can't, and turns out the place to do so is really nowhere.

The reason you're not saying what your favorite anime happens to be is because you're a hardcore Eva fan ha? I bet you're embarrassed.

...

You keep on daydreaming buddy. Once you're back down to reality together with the rest of us come join us once more.

>favorite anime
Is that another american invention?
