Imagine you're God. You hate degeneracy, and have been telling people that for eons. You tell those people that they will ultimately be judged. Some guy says you're not real, and there's nothing wrong with degeneracy, and there's something wrong with people who say there is. Would you want to hang out with that guy for eternity? Obviously not.
Why would God care that Hawking helped figure out a tiny part of the world that he designed and already comprehends? I mean, that's nice, but it hardly covers up for being what God hates.

Do lines like that actually make you feel more confident of your beliefs? Because it seems to me that if you were intellectually honest, then such arguments as yours would actually leave you with nagging doubts regarding the ultimate nature and purpose of the universe, and whether you had truly addressed them. Well thought and and tested beliefs come with much better confidence than random attacks on the opposition without merit.

Obviously not. He is still alive. It is only in this particular universe that he is dead. Anyone worth their salt knows that all reality is base on observation, which is the result of the collapse of the quantum wave function. The act of observation can determine the outcome.
This is basic 3rd year quantum mechanics. You have a probability wave until you make the observation, then the wave collapses.
We have observed Mr. Hawkings death. But that is just based on the probability resolving itself - he was in his 70's had ALS disease, should be dead. So he is dead.
But as a conscious being he is also observing outcomes that are not necessarily the same as ours. In fact his act of observation could determine it's own outcome. In fact he may never die. We may never die. This is the many worlds theory of quantum mechanics. In fact it is just as valid as the Copenhagen interpretation of wave/particle duality. Many would argue that the many worlds theory is a better representation.
Bottom line - He is not in heaven, he is alive on another timeline. You never die. n
