Kino's Journey

Do you like new Kino?

Not as much of the old one, but Kino is Kino.

KINO LOVES MY SEMEN SO MUCH

It's pretty good. Some episodes are better than the original show.

I haven't seen the old one, but this one is okay so far.

I didn't even like the original one. The only thing it was good for in my opinion was falling asleep with because of the calmness of the series. I haven't watched the new one yet but I can't imagine it would be any different.

>kino
Fuck off >>Sup Forums

I really like the OP sequence.

newfag

"kino" is the newfaggiest fucking forced meme on this site right now

It's ok.
Just like the original one

Feels rushed. Nakamura did a way better job.

94% people prefer the old one, compared to the new world

i prefer the atmosphere in the old one

It's two for three so far in my opinion. Can't really say whether it's better than the old anime or not yet.

How kino is Kino?

Wow they did a remake of the original? Why?

>a remake
Three of the episodes are the same, the 9 are different.

>Why?
Because it's been 15 years since the last anime, and there are 15 more novels to advertise now.

>Because it's been 15 years since the last anime
Time moves too fast...

Disappointed at her and Hermes' voices. It's just not the same, man.

I like her voice, but I agree on Hermes voice. His voice just isn't the same...

...

I like both honestly. It's certainly not the same but I think they do the characters justice.

I love the new anime

It was kino.

guys will people lewd kino? is there any way to stop it?

...

The best part I love about Kino is that she probably wouldn't care if you saw her naked or her bare crotch. Just don't expect that by her allowing you to see her in a nude state is a free invitation to have your way with her. That's a good way to lose your life if you even try.

>will

...

It's okay. They keep the feel of her character on point but the CGI is ugly and the director doesn't seem to understand there was more to original Kino's atmosphere than "creepy". It was often sad, awkward, anxious, lonely and conflicted as well but those are feelings I don't sense at all from the new one.

I'm fine watching it to the end but it'll be a long, loooooong time if I ever rewatch it, whereas the original I'll probably always rewatch regularly. The only major improvement is getting rid of those scan lines

I'm enjoy it as a new interpretation of the source material. People keep comparing it to the old anime instead of the novels, but I don't think that's a good comparison point because of the liberties it took in the first place.

>mfw I'll never be able to impress Kino with an impressively large penis of my own
Seriously though, wouldn't a country like that practice eugenics? I understand training the body but it implies that they also train the penis, which I doubt is even possible. I'd imagine a place like that would be far crueler than one could imagine.
I'm obviously overthinking this fan fiction.

God is the CGI ugly.

Is not as good as the old kino,it would be nice if it have some more news stories, when it have old stories it shows how the old anime was so much better

The way it's written, it sounds like eugenics in that country has already been followed through to completion.

Do you think if I tokd Kino that I want to put my benis in her butt that she would shoot me?

I don't know... Joseph's life might be next on the chopping block. Can't have those scrawny genes being passed down.

As long as you didn't try to force anything no. If you were attractive and charming enough she'd probably let you. I've read pretty far into the novels and she doesn't strike me as prudish. Just avoidant of commitment in all forms.

Does she break any men's hearts in the LN's? I'd imagine that she would... I haven't read the LN's myself yet.

>its normalfag because I say so

What in the world have you read that made you think that?

Well nothing makes me think she's terribly open to it but nothing makes me think she isn't. The subject isn't really touched on, it's just the rest of her personality I'm working with here.

is that actually from the ln?

I've never watched the original but I think the new one is kinda crappy. If the original is the same then I don't like that either. Kino is cute and everything but the writing is kinda bad and it's not really comfy either.

Yes.

No.

The 1st episode was so nonsensical I dont understand why anyone would keep going after that.

Are you that guy who thinks the thug who wanted to kill people didn't do anything wrong?

...

Maybe.

I don't know.

>hey come to our town where you can kill people with no consequences
>Okay I came here ready to kill people since everyone says its fine, go ahead.
>If you just said its not fine I wouldnt come here or try to kill anyone to begin with , just so you know
>Ugh why would you come to our town to kill people >:( thats soo mean, I guess we have to kill you since you're a dangerous individual whos audacious enough to attempt to take an innocent persons life
Maybe Im not japanese enough to get it.

So it's settled then...

Her name is Tulip!

No, Kino is Kino!

Why didn't the original Kino just grab little Kino and run away once he knew what was going to happen to her?
They could have been happy together on the road, sharing an older brother and sister-like relationship...

The cgi honestly makes me hate it. It looks like absolute shit.

Yeah I dont understand how did the cgi bike look so bad at 1st ep. Surely its possible to make it look less choppy?

Episode 1 and 3 were great. Don't think it'll end up being as good as the original Anime though. New Kino is cuter though.

He probably didn't want to intervene at first. Little Kino tends to have a habit of only intervening in things if it concerns her, and I assume that big Kino did too. That said, obviously he did intervene and it got him killed for it. Besides, abducting children because you don't agree with cultural practices isn't really moral. Or is it?
Better question would be, was it ethical for big Kino to intervene? Obviously whatever system they had was working for them. It was framed as a society that functioned well and seemed comfortable enough, but had a very obviously questionable practice that would go against what we believe as humane and civilized. That said, the society still functioned. Big Kino was an outsider and was only passing through, did he have any right to intervene?

>Kino was born in the Land of Adults with the name of a flower. She dislikes it as it resembles that of an insult (i.e., nekura meaning dark-mooded) which resulted in her often being teased.Though not outright stated, it is implied that it is "Sakura" - a bright red flower found just beyond the borders of her home country. [1]

I'm pretty sure cherry blossoms don't grow in patches in open fields.

But Sakura isnt a bright red flower that grows in a field, this theory literally only comes about because a girl in another country was also named after a flower. This is so stupid, it comes down to two things, it's either Poppy, or its something Sigsawa made up. But it sure as all fuck isn't Sakura.

It's alright. Sometimes the CGI is a bit much, but not horrible enough to distract from anything.
It takes it's time, has the same story vibe, and everything. My one complaint though is that the pastel colors for the envirement is sometimes too bright than the story it's telling. The old one had some dusty, dark colors in the background. Maybe they should add more gloomy colors more often. Otherwise it's fine.
I'm also just glad we have another chance at Kino porn. Maybe this time we'll get less rape

It really is a sticky situation with no right or wrong answer.
You can apply the same logic to the slave traders that Kino killed. Was she right for killing them when human trading is their lively hood and the norm where they were born & raised? While at the same time you can easily justify her actions by saying that it was simple self defense, but keep in mind that they had no intention of killing her. They were just going along with a system that has worked for them for generations. Did Kino have any right to kill them when they were just doing all that they know? Did they have any right to try and claim her as their own to sell when after everything she's done for them? Whose morals and action are the "just cause?"
It all just depends on which side you view it from.

To be honest I take back the no right or wrong answer part... It depends on if you're within a country's borders or not.
Technically the original Kino had no right to interfere as long as he was within the Land of Adults, but he did anyways. Morally though it was the right thing to do. Little Kino was just a little girl after all, with an innocent inquisitive mind that lead to the unfortunate events that followed her questioning. To the outside world and the original Kino, she just didn't deserve to be killed over her harmless question.
It's all kind of like the what you hear about in National Parks when tourists see animals that are in trouble or baby animals that seem abandoned. They're told to leave the wildlife alone and let nature do its job, but they want to, and more often then not, "help" because they believe it's the right thing to do.

To reiterate, it's just a sticky situation.
I honestly believe that the original Kino wasn't going to make it out alive in any way even if he did grab little Kino. They would have just killed him at the entrance gate if he abducted her. The only way out of it would have been to just turn his back on little Kino and move on.

it's only been three episodes. Give it a chance. You never know where the budget is until it's very apparent.

The story isn't paced to terribly well to let anything really sink in, but I don't know how they would be able to do that without extending the episode length.

The atmosphere is a bit different, but that could change. And if it wasn't, I don't know if it would be worse off for it.

yup

God, I'm glad more people will draw more Kino

Does reading the light novels compare to the show? As far as enjoyment goes.

It's the wild west falacy. Once the Wild West became very famous for the adventure stories and lawlessness a lot of city folk would hit the Oregon Trail ready to fight Indians and outlaws, only to be disappointed to find peaceful natives and towns full of fair hardworking men.
People attracted to a honeycomb and aren't bees are unlikely to be thinking of the good of the hive. It was a beacon for people looking for earnest safehaven, and a trap for people looking for a jungle.

maybe it's a ground cherry blossom that's local. different world so anythings possible

First two episodes were pretty bad but looks like it's starting to getting better, at least episode 3 was nice, hopefully they don't fuck up anymore.

>did kino have any right to kill them when they were going to literally abduct her to sell her as slave
Look I know you guys want everything to be morally ambiguous in the series but apply some common sense here, self defense isn't self defense just because instead of killing her they were going to sell her into slavery?

>It's the wild west
The whole point of everyone being armed is that everyone knew it and was afraid of the consequences. You wouldnt start shit since you might just fucking die.
Its 100% the opposite in this anime.

She murdered them in cold blood, letting the last suffer by staring him down.
They were not going hurt her because they needed her to sell in order to make a profit before returning home. She could have just easily disarmed them and fought them off without having to kill them.
Kino is a murderer.

are you just pretending to be retarded

>everyone being armed is that everyone knew it and was afraid of the consequences. You wouldnt start shit since you might just fucking die.
>Its 100% the opposite in this anime.
I don't see your point. Can you rephrase it?

Stop posting

>are you just pretending to be retarded
No... They were not going to hurt her!
Let's say you had a gun and a guy brandished a knife at you but you knew for a fact that he was not going to hurt you. Would you shoot him anyways because "lol It's self defense! He had a knife!"?

Kino has the skill to have ended that confrontation without any blood shed whatsoever, but she chose not too, she choice to kill them all. I genuinely believe that she's sick in the head and just took the opportunity to see fear in someone else's eyes.
When will guys realize that Kino is literally a heartless person with nothing but selfishness in the black hole where her heart should be? She's mentally not right.

Pity her doujins still aren't translated.

I do not understand

Don't you ever reply to me again

Not an argument

Can you repeat the question?

>She could have just easily disarmed them
Confirmed for never having handled a firearm.

...

This is fucking Kino we're talking about here.
She's literally a genius tactician when it comes to firearms, hand to hand combat, and knife fighting. Plus her marksmanship is far beyond that of any normal human. She's like Revolver Ocelot and Roland Deschain rolled up into one. I doubt those three slave traders were even close to being a real threat to her, enough so that she was probably just playing with them. Not once were they ever in a position of control in that situation.

...

...

She just went for the fastest and easiest solution, as usual.

SLUT

Which is perfectly fine I'd like to add. No concessions when one's life is on the line.

But she didn't do anything! Although it does imply that she masturbates to the idea at the end...

What's this from?

I wonder what types of scenarios the doujins will explore. Stuff like bandits surprising her at night, her being forced to pay a special entrance fee for getting into a country. Many such possibilities really.

>saw a dick
This makes her a slut by Sup Forums standards

What

...

What do Kino's armpits smell like?

Like bad body odor if she hasn't bathed.

...

Hey Sup Forums, I have never seen the original.
Is this a reboot or a continuation?

reboot

yes.

Yeah the old filter/palette gave it a slight melancholic undertone in everything which made the mood whiplash less jarring.

I'm not especially impressed, but more Kino is always nice.
