My entire life they've been trying to program me not to be racist, when I never really gave a shit from the get go. They're right that kids don't see race. They really don't give a fuck about it, but then every day at school its painted and repainted as a target to be aware of, to pay attention to, to never forget. The aggravation from this alone is the seed of most of my frustration with things to do with race. I suppose its in some effort to think for myself, that since they've so intensely tried to program in not being racist, being racist feels like something I can at least own. Its against the rules, outside the bounds of the system. And in my heart I'm really not, I just happen to notice that those with more melanin tend to be less educated and more aggressive. I don't tense up when I see a black person on the street because they're black, in fact I often don't at all. If I do tense up, it is likely because they're sagging their pants and look simultaneously bored and angry. If they're in normal clothes and smiling I walk by as if it was anyone else. But now some part of my doesn't want to do that, soley as a rebellion. You did this libfucks, you really are dumb.
now add to that all of the television, radio, magazines, movies, etc and ask yourself why we're not all mindless drones
