Actually, he didn't want to make his waifu real. In the manga, where the hologram tech wasn't nearly as advanced, he wanted to take over Kaibacorp so he could use their Solid Vision tech to recreate Cecilia's image. He didn't want to take the puzzle from Yugi, his deal with the Kaibacorp execs required him to beat Yugi to take over the company.

I mean... I guess that makes it more sensible why he would duel Yugi rather than asking for the puzzle, but then it just makes the whole grandpa kidnapping even more nonsensical.

In the manga, he DIDN'T put Yugi's grandfather's soul in a card, but in the same video that he sent to entrap Yugi. They could still pop it into players and talk with him. But the reason was still that he needed to force Yugi to duel him.

Huh... That's kinda weird stil... Why not just stop by like a normal person and say "Hey, you like Duel Monsters, right? Awesome, great to meet fans of my game. Will you duel me real quick?"

If I had to guess (I don't know shit about deep yugioh lore) it may be because she became the Blue-Eyes which then was trapped in a tablet. Same reason Mahad and Mana didn't reincarnate, having become monsters.

The millenium items were all super cool and it's kinda sad that we didn't get more usability out of them.
I think one of the worst things about Yugi-oh is that the entire plot revolved around "Duel Monsters"
You could've gotten some really interesting arcs, post battle city involving new millenium items and new games and that sort of thing.

What's the general opinion about Arc-V? I've been going back to Arc V and am wondering what's your guy's opinion on it. The duels where great and the openings were nice. Was it a good series?

When it began I heard nothing but praise for it. When it ended, I hear it called the worst one.

The First two seasons where great but things sorta fell apart after the edge started to kick in. It had great comedy and slice of life stuff and maybe should've kept it that way
