Nevertheless, there are so many issues demanding the Chief's attention that you could certainly argue that an effective president only needs to be good at delegating, or choosing the right people; however, I believe we should elect leaders that are as intelligent, capable and well-informed as we can find.

So with these criteria in mind, would Oprah make a good president? Sure, she might have a certain amount of electability, but what would she actually bring to the presidency? Im sure she would be more dignified than Trump, but I have to say I'm more concerned with having a a capable and practical president than having one who is "dignified". Sure you should have a sense of the weight of your decision making (which Trump obviously lacks), but that quality alone does not a president make. You also mentioned that she could "help heal the deep racial wounds". Ok, so she's obviously a likable person with empathetic qualities, and im sure she would be better than Trump for black and brown people around the country. But a quick scroll through the comments in this very thread may show you why "healing racial wounds" is easier said than done, in a country where 1 out of 3 black men is under the control of the so-called Justice System, mostly for nonviolent drug offenses. Oprah couldn't rewrite minimum sentencing laws, control the outcome of elections, or dismantle the system of mass incarceration, so how would she "heal" the "deep racial wounds" cause by 200 years of second class status for blacks?
