Id rather they have just stuck to cute witch adventures in a cute witch school. The whole attempt at a serious plot just came across as overly dramatic and well I don't want to call it edgy but it was best when it was just being fun cute stand alone adventures in a larger magical world

LWA is one of the best anime it year and sure best of it season. If you hate LWA you either retarded weaboo that watch harem ecchi isekai shit every season and disappointed that you didnt get a single pantsu shot for 26 episodes, or you just baiting.

LWA's problem is that in the first half, no progress was ever made. It had horrific pacing issues, and character and plot points were dropped. It felt like it was made up as it went along.
Croix was a shit character in general. She's completely forgettable.

I think there's no better way to describe this bait and switch other than comparing the dragon in the OVA to the jew dragon in the show. Also for some reason Lotte and Sucy got dumped to the side really often, and when they were on they didn't seem to do much other than bully Akko more than Diana.

I regret Diana being such a large focus at all, especially when Akko's actual friends got a single token episode and then it was just DIANA DIANA DIANA!

They also needed more depth to their character's relationships. Akko always chose her own selfish whims over the concerns and feelings of her friends, Lotte was always a wet blanket who never went out of her way to support Akko, and Sucy was just a sociopath. The three of them were supposed to be best friends, but it never really felt like they were much more than roommates on good terms.

Yeah I agree, we got Lottes ep with Night Fall and Sucys dream world but there wasn't enough characterisation other than that.

Croix could have worked as a finale antagonist in that 3 episode finale. Just downplay the drama. Just have her be one of Ursula's old buddies who changed over the years and is now posing a threat either intentionally or un that the girls have to deal with.

OP back. I'm up to episode 17 now. The last one, with the fucking moss disease or whatever, was probably the stupidest and most poorly paced episode yet. The setting was utterly contrived and it earned none of what it attempted, and the equivalence of the Yeti with an abused animator was none too subtle. What the fuck was half of it even for? I'm starting to be over this series.
