As much as I would like Muv Luv trilogy anime, It would need massive resources to pull out successfully.
We are talking lots of time, all-stars production, multiple seasons and probably some movies. Often with no clear "conclusion" between seasons/movies.

Well I would like a good adaptation.

I feel like Extra could be 13 episodes if they only did the Meiya route, but considering you would kinda need Sumika too 26 episodes for Extra would be optimal. I think another 13 would be fine for Unlimited but Alternative would need something like 50 to fit what you need in there.

I don't think Extra anime would work. It is just too tedious and non-interesting and the romance is cliche.
I would go for 3 episode OVA with focus on romance with some comedy instead.

You could probably cram extra and unlimited in 2 cours with something like ~9 episodes for extra and 15 for unlimited.

I went into muv-luv expecting to be a Chizurufag and she ended up being my second least favorite of the main cast.

I doubt it will ever be done in a way that does the trilogy justice.
The resources it would take to pull off would probably be huge, and isn't Muv Luv still pretty niche anyway?
