Psychedelics are degenerate in excess. Do a natural one, like mushrooms, and do it literally once. Pick a point in the future and designate it as your mushroom day. Build it up as a forthcoming transformation. Make it ritualistic. Get some friends to join you, and preferably have someone there who's experienced with psychedelics, or at best, inform yourself beforehand. Treat it like a coming-of-age ritual. Modern society is severely lacking in such actual experiences that signify the ascension to manhood.

Ritual use of psychedelics could be something acceptable, as is similarly the case in Pagan practices with things like mead offerings and ritual/prayer based consumption etc. For recreational use though, and as a component of consumer culture, it is absolutely degenerate and pleasure motivated behavior with essentially no purpose, detestable due to the proclivity of such recreational use becoming something of a regular occurrence, invading the functional living ability of individuals without adequate self control (who will always exist in society). Ritual, on a related note, need not be religious either, but rather just a practice regulated and controlled through strict cultural tradition (usually though, more easily preserved through religious doctrine) as not to run wild and cause significant health issues/lifestyle.

Psychedelics were key components in a lot of ancient culture's manhood rituals. They're not necassary, like this user pointed out , but it doesn't hurt to put your mind and body through an experience like that to make a symbolic ritual more physical. I'm not against using them more than once, but using them once certainly raises the experience above multiple or recreational uses. Obviously you could do a manhood ritual without psychedelics. Fraternities at colleges get along that way, to an extent. I just think western culture's starved of that kind of ritual for the most part.

I became redpilled after my ego was melted when I did LSD 3 times in 2 days. It was hell at the time but I’m actually glad it happened now looking back. It’s like it woke me up to reality and I ended up ditching this degenerate girl I was dating. I did some shrooms later on this year. That was pretty great because I went tramping and picked them myself. After that experience it solidified my belief in National Socialism and my adoration for Adolf Hitler. Point being that psychedelics can be a tool but should not be abused
