Does anyone else struggle to play anime on VLC without the quality being shit?
I've been trying to put some anime episodes (as MKVs) onto a samsung tablet but when I play it back its just stuttery and unwatchable. I tried several other media players all with the same shit, and it's not even a large file (about 200MB, 720p).
What the fuck do I use to watch my animus Sup Forums?

For Android, VLC is the best option.
Play it on your PC. If it looks shit there too, then it's the files fault. If it looks good on your PC and bad on your Android, then it's your devices fault. Also enable hardware acceleration.
It's a galaxy 2, it's a bit old but I'd have thought it could play a small cartoon without trouble.

I've been using MX Player for years. Seems to run .mkv and subs just fine.
I use PotPlayer nowadays, I love how it handles playlists.
There's also mpv for android. It's quite experimental tho.

You could try using a lower quality file format, as you are using a tablet you wont need 1080/720 quality.

VLC on android is terrible, can't play HD for shit without skipping/artifacts.
MX Player on the other side is flawless, my shitty snapdragon 625 can even handle HEVC 1080p
have now downloaded a codec pack for mx which generally works, playback is still fairly low quality and audio is unsynched but it's probably about the best i'll get for now.

No, I directly compared it to MPC and noticed zero difference. I suspect many of the people having problems are using trash tier computers (likely laptops with shitty OEM hardware and video drivers).
