It is not about reading between the lines, it is that a lot of the scenes and events seem to happen at random, like people being on a island and the next chapter in a completely different place.
Or for example the evil yakuza who rape the trap out of nowhere or Shiina suddenly wanting to get impregnated.
Maybe it was because Kitoh redid lots of pages before publishing the volumes, but a lot of stuff feels unconnected.

We don't know if she had sex with Tsurumaru to get impregnated, though it's possible. Either way it didn't come out of nowhere. Shiina developing feelings for him was hinted for a long time and she knew that having children was important to him, both because of his personal feelings and because of Sudos explanation about him. Then she found him on his deathbed knowing this was the last chance for them. And lets not forget it was just a short time after Shiina learned that her mother actually always cared about her, changing her attitude towards having own kids.

Is Narutaru a good watch? It has been sitting at the bottom of my backlog for years but looks like it's kind of shit so it gets pushed down everytime I add something else to it

Are there even any actually scary anime that could truly be classified as horror, and not just slasher/gore?
Another kinda tried to create a horror atmosphere, but didn't really work and still was just another gorefest.

The middle part of some of the dusk maiden stuff is quite scary and not gory.

Alright, found it, it was narutaru vol 7 ch 33, what a fucking disappointment I was hoping for more enkou.

First thing I did was look through the cast list of narutaru and did not find an Ito Kaori, the translation was also incorrect, it's supposed to be Matsumoto Kaori and the worst part is shes a side character in a side chapter so she wasn't included in the cast list, only a small mention under the guy's description.

Remember seeing this when I was like 11-12? It fucked me up for a good week.

It's enjoyable but kind of overrated desu (the anime, I mean, mostly bc it has some pacing issues.) Either read the manga or watch the superior Bokurano, a better adaptation of a similar-tone story by the same author.
