If I wanted to watch everything I'm watching legally I'd need to subscribe to like 6 different services and even then some of them wont even come to where I live.

Sure if CR offered direct download link to anime thats stored drm free on your pc and it's cheap it would be attractive, but they dont.
Imagine if you're selling 300$ bds and someone sold the same show for 10$ thats stored more convenienty on a hdd, no one would buy bds ever. The business model is bds and streaming, no direct downloads ever.

I only pay for one streaming service at the moment. Crunchyroll is pretty good imo. basically this tho. Its like 7 bucks a month and more convenient for me

except BDs have higher resolution and other fixes compared to tv streams
the tv source resolution is usually 720p while BDs come with native 1080p
unless you like upscaled garbage there's a huge difference

More than half of the rest (70/30 maybe) goes to CR. From this they buy the licences, promo, R&D, etc.. The remaining 30% are split to the publisher depending on what was watched the most.

I don't know if the studios profit from the initial license and the trickle monthly royalties the same way as from BD and figures. Though it would surprise me if not.

The fact that only a tiny portion of your CR subscription (for example) goes to the publishers in Japan is well known, but consider the fact that such a small cut is split to ALL publishers that CR is associated with, because it's a monthly sub fee and has nothing to do with what shows you watch. If you get a CR subscription and watch a handful of your favourite shows, you're still "paying" for hundreds more shows that you have literally no interest in. You could easily consider this as having a far worse effect on the industry than even piratefags that pay for nothing, because they are near-directly supporting the garbage overinflating the industry.
And then of course consider that even after your pennies reach the publishers, how much of that is trickling down into the pockets of the artists responsible for whatever you care about?

To someone who just wants to keep up with the newest shows I suppose a more disposable method of watching like streaming is preferable. Most modern anime fans probably just stream seasonal meme show on their phone anyway.

I've been doing it for years and I'm very happy. Quality of service and catalog has continuously improved. Admittedly, the entry of the supermajor West Coast tech brands into the market has complicated the picture though. I'm still pirating and IPs I'm interested in which were licensed by Netflix.

Supporting anime industry is only effective when you are doing it directly, so paying for streams is out of question. In that sense, BDs are way more directive way to support it or donating your money to the studios.

Speaking of torrenting, no one is actually making profit (unless you buy merch after being influenced from it) or losses (if you stop buying merch). You can't really evaluate how much it does affect the industry.

Of course you can, by estimating lost potential revenue. The incentive to contain piracy has always been that it represents unrealized market growth, not that it directly amounts to financial losses.
