I wish. It's the number of preorders for the DVD box of Heybot, an actual kids' show that aired on Sunday mornings. Of course, this is a bit of an exceptional case, but it does show that it's not necessarily true that otaku won't buy kids' shows.

I don't think anyone was under any illusion that a second season would be made for this. It's a small miracle the show completed its four-cours run, considering the toys didn't appear to sell very well. The fact that the DVD box being released at all was initially not a certainty and they went for a crowdfunding-like approach (a minimum number of preorders were needed for the release and after that there were several "stretch goals" which added extras like the OST, audio commentary, BDs etc.) may have boosted it a bit, but that doesn't explain the doubling of preorders in one day after a public viewing event while all the stretch goals had already been reached.

I have. Pretty much everything in this episode, with the exception of Cool Pose, got adapted to animation for the first time. Basically, new ground is being broken (which is probably the reason why they decided to switch OP/ED this episode), so there is no old anime to be filler for.
