Watching american sub of japanese anime

>watching american sub of japanese anime
>kansai accent becomes a southern accent
>watching japanese dub of canadian anime
>american southern accent just stays normal japanese, no kansai

Is kansai similar to the New York accent?

yes

No wonder I like Sendo so much

>canadian anime
Did your mom's abortion fail?

I hate when translators give characters southern accents in manga. I can't stop myself from imagining the character as some dumb bumbling hick when I know that the character in Japanese is not like that. It stops me from enjoying the characters quirks as the author intended, and its annoying to read.

In anime subs I don't really care because I can hear the characters voice

Isn't that the point? They look down on Osakan hicks.

>Watching mlp in japanese dub

>reading a doujin
>characters have Straya accent

Osakans ARE dumb bumbling hicks you moron

It's actually pretty accurate voice acting

To be fair, so are New Yorkers

>canadian anime

>I can't stop myself from imagining the character as some dumb bumbling hick

Except that's literally what the kansai accent is supposed to do.

SOU YA NEN YADE YA HEN

It's silly no matter how you look at it.
AJ should have had a kansai ben and you know it.

>Excusing spike for sounding as autistic as he does in the jp dub.
user-kun please.

hokkaido accent should be the rural hick.

>Canadian anime
what did he mean by this?

Does Canadian anime come in bags?
Does it get arrested for containing loli?

>Yorkshire accent
>Slut, not slag

6/10, needs improvement.

>Does it get arrested for containing loli?
Only in New Brunswick

I thought it was a federal thing, not provincial

The japanese dub is shit, I just watched one episode, I'm not excusing anyone, just disappointed that AJ doesn't sound as retarded as she could. RD also sounds like trash. I like the theme song though.

You don't even want to know.

There is literally no good way to "translate" accents. It's a lose-lose situation.

Honestly though, reading a southern accent in the subs for a kansai accent used to piss me off, but now that I'm a little better at Japanese, going and watching a Japanese dub of western media, it was actually pretty disappointing not hearing a kansai accent for a character that I knew was supposed to sound like a cowboy. Liberal translations might seem silly but they are usually better than just nothing.

In Ontario you can view and download, just can't import.

My Life Me, Cybersix, Martin Mystery, etc.

Does japan have as many magic horse fans as us?

...

That's only because they have the same va. Speaking of which do you remember the massive amount of butthurt that single image caused on Sup Forums

Nostalgia is scary. I want to rewatch Martin Mystery because it was one of my favorites but I don't think it will hold up.

>I can't stop myself from imagining the character as some dumb bumbling hick
That's literally what people from Osaka are
