The horror element of this anime is its writing. Truly deserved as a "you must watch this in Halloween" anime.

I'm guessing you mean it's bad.
If so, I agree.
B-but it's a parody OP!
Yamizukan was pure horror too in a sense how bad it was
The only reason people still talk about Mayoiga is the mass amount of OC it produced. The show was undoubtedly shit but the speculation and sparking Sup Forums's creativity was worth it.
I miss it. It was so painfully pathetic and retarded it actually killed me of laugh every week.
But it is a comedy.
What was funny about it?
All of these excellent theories anons came up with, and it ended up following none.
Honestly, a couple of anons from Sup Forums could've handled writing the plot and it would've went fucking big.
Technically it was a comedy disguised as a """"horror"""" anime. But since the one who's in charge of its writing didn't even try, the writing itself become the horror genre as their viewers wished. And they deserved it.
The situation whereby a dozen strangers go for an off-meeting and experiencing various levels of anxiety and mental retardation all beginning with a singing sequence about a miserable hippopotamus. It is the very definition of comedy in the classical sense and the modern sense.

>The situation whereby a dozen strangers go for an off-meeting and experiencing various levels of anxiety and mental retardation
Oh yeah, this was so funny when it happened in NHK!
I love Lovepon.
I want to violate Lolipon's anus.
Did someone said pon?
...
You're missing the point and yes, there would have been a level of comedy to it in NHK if Satou was introduced in a bus filled with miserable people singing about a hippo and if Yamazaki was hiding a boob head all along.
This is my OC. Say something nice thing to him.
>tfw I spent 3 hours making all those beanies for the thread pic
Why couldnt it have been skinwalkers?
It already user. They are disguised skinwalkers with beanies
It's kind of sad Gensou Drive's singer went on hiatus considering she only debuted last year with Mayoiga. They said she'll be back next year, though we'll see.
Why was the manga so better than its anime?
I'm disappointed there's no Space Zong
wasn't written and directed by hacks who were so incompetent that they couldn't even establish a consistent tone throughout the whole show
The manga is what the anime should have been.
>mfw watching that lion-is-my-waifu webm made me question how I actually pronounce mayoiga in my head
>mfw it's probably not mayo-(as in mayonnaise)eega(as in egalitarian but with a long e)
I'm ESL so I can't really explain it properly, but it's similar to "my-yo-e: ga(h)". Long E, and a silent H at the end.
rabupon
What's with all the Mayoiga threads lately?
are there really just 3 hoodies or am I missing some more?
Too bad it was fucking boring.
I effectively mastered Photoshop because of Mayoiga. I've had previous experience with PS, but it was the drive I felt during Mayoiga that solidified my knowledge.
What the fuck am I looking at
What's his name? Also, is he a top or a bottom?
Honestly, it's an okay character design.
This was a concept character posted on the old website for the VN project.
He didn't have a name and he could've been both depending on player choices.
Fuck you, this shit was garbage.
10/10 unironically
>VN project
What? Why haven't I heard of this before? Where can I play it? Do I get to bang all characters in it?
It wasn't something official. I used the past tense because the idea was dropped eventually.
Mayoiga had incredible potential, and honestly what it ended up doing was not the worst that could have happened.
I think it didn't necessarily have any obligation to conform to a genre. I could see from the setup of "A bunch of people social awkward enough to fucking DISAPPEAR THEMSELVES OVER AN OCCULT RUMOUR show up for an offline meeting and then maybe, maybe don't find what they were looking for" that there was going to be plenty of comedy gold in this.
And you know what? There were a decent number of moments when it was the suspense and tense atmosphere that were carrying the show. It was even genuinely scary a few times, something few anime manage. But that doesn't detract from it because it also has comedy and the comedy doesn't detract from it just because it has horror.
Mayoiga was a fucking ride, and I enjoyed it. It was what it was. I can definitely think of a good number of ways it could have turned out better, and allude to my experiences a fair bit. But it was good enough IMO. Unironically an 8 and I grade harshly.
