But who was Abraham?

was moses a shitty boring gary stu artist insert character? i didn't read the source.

Yeah he was like "let my people go!" and didn't get lynched on the spot and everyone sucked his dick.

But who was Abraham?

Moses is this guy, OP. He got voiced by Megumi Ogata.

was Jesus a shitty boring ecchi harem beta artist insert character? i didn't read the source.

No, quite the opposite. He only had one love interest per route, there were almost no "ecchi" scenes spare for that one you just posted and about two sex scenes per route. Shirou developed like a healthy, interesting character although DEEN was determined to turn him into a shitty ecchi harem beta self-insert.

I believe user was asking about The Bible

>Shirou developed like a healthy, interesting character although DEEN was determined to turn him into a shitty ecchi harem beta self-insert.

Is that not Fate route Shirou?

Well Jesus did have a lot of followers. I bet he had more than a few anime-like run ins with girls.
DEEN did a very poor job handling Shirou.

Nah, he was solidly gunning for his mother, but had to settle for some bitch that had the same name. No harem though, just bros and his Oedipus complex. To be fair though, he only got that way because he was also his dad and his dad's dick. Both of which pounded the shit of his mother every day up until the very second he was born.

Jesus is this guy, He doesn't suffer from gynephobia and not even blushing in front of waifus.

Shirou is just another self insert beta harem MC for virgin otaku and western virgin weebshit like malfag and redditor.

>DEEN did a very poor job handling Shirou.

How so? Provide examples comparing DEEN with the VN.

But that's Shiva, user. It's practically in his name.

>Shirou is just another self insert beta harem MC for virgin otaku and western virgin weebshit like malfag and redditor.

Shirou developed like a healthy, interesting character although DEEN was determined to turn him into a shitty ecchi harem beta self-insert.

Read the VN REEEE

You can say whatever you want about Sieg and you'll be right, but I have to admit that he dresses well

The fact they refused to use any visual metaphors or indication of his thought process alone (when most of his development and personality comes from internal thoughts) and just decided to stick with the actions alone is enough of a bad job that I don't need to make an essay on this.

>DEEN did a very poor job handling Shirou.
>DEEN

but Fate Stay/Night: Unlimited Blade Works isn't DEEN

>Fate Stay/Night: Unlimited Blade Works

100% beta-kun too

yeah it is

Fuck your abraham bullshit, we need to know who Issac?

yes

Okay but who's Metatron?

Are you talking about UFO? Deen actually kept some of his internal thoughts.

Sup Forums hated UFO for removing those monologues.

How many Fate/stay night adaptions do we need

Two. The first one that sucks, and the Brotherhood that was good.

I won't be satisfied until Ufotable does a Fate route modified how Nasu wants it now. He alluded to it once, he can't get away with not perfecting it.

Can Oniisama kill Servants?

When will we get a Muhammad?

What's wrong with the Fate route?

Hard mode: No >muh deen!!

Naturally. He can destroy souls and delete magic.

He can have all of them, you casual.

>and the Brotherhood that was good.

Seriously?

>Cuts away all of Emiya's internal dialog, which is roughly half the game and his characterization
>cut where Shirou decides to buy food for Saber and while doing that meets Ilya’s maid, Leysritt. He helps her buying meat
>A lot of the dialog is completely made up and never occurs
>cut a lot of the silly humor out and gave it a more serious tone
>VN had a clear progression when Archer was dropping his backstory to Shirou and Saber, from his life to his death. Talks about how he slowly adopted the "kill one to save many" mentality while alive, his regret over his ideal betraying him, and then his contract with the World and subsequent despair after death.
>The anime somehow misunderstood this and almost completely skipped over the first part. Archer talked about how he was taught the "kill one to save many" after becoming Counter Guardian, then explains how he made his contract, and then talks about his work after death. Almost everything related to his life as a human was skipped over.
>Lancer didn’t just prick Shinji with his lance like in the anime, he almost cut off his arm. The arm is barely attached in the final scene in this episode and Shinji notices how useless it has become, so he dreams of everyone losing both of their arms, and him collecting them, so he can feel superior.

Lots of stuff is left out in Shirou’s thoughts, but I think this is what Nasu meant, when he talked about “throwing the explanation at the readers’ faces”, like how Shirou lost every emotion in that fire or how Rin knows he’ll live a thankless life if he keeps this kind of mindset. Shirou views the person before the fire and Emiya Shirou as two different people. He sees it as a rebirth (that’s how the first scene from his POV is named) and that one emotion he felt, when Kiritsugu saved him, was happiness.

I don't see anything wrong with the Fate route of the VN, but it would be cool to see how it's improved by Nasu.

B-But Shirou's a serious character! Fucking DEEN and UFO.

Shirou and Saber excaliblasting Berserker together was kinda corny (the whole fight was, even Rin's part) and the ending fight with Gil and Saber seemed very fairytail-ish

>>Cuts away all of Emiya's internal dialog, which is roughly half the game and his characterization
And turns it all into visual metaphors, nice job having all of that going over your head dumbass. They had a very good handle on "show, don't tell".
>A lot of the dialog is completely made up and never occurs
>cut a lot of the silly humor out and gave it a more serious tone
Incorrect on both accounts.
>>The anime somehow misunderstood this and almost completely skipped over the first part.
Archer only grew bitter after his death and had zero regrets during his life. He didn't do the "kill one to save many" thing like Kiritsugu, he merely came to terms with the fact he can't save everyone.

You didn't pay attention at all.

What did you expect?

Shirou Emiya is literally a mix of Rito Yuuki from To LOVE-Ru and Ichika Orimura from IS: Infinite Stratos

>Nasu: Personally, I think that it's impossible to fully convey the quality of the game. That's not me giving up, but rather that I think that they're two entirely different things. So rather than it being a question of how to adapt the game, I thought we should start off by deciding what to cut out.

>Nasu: When I reread that old material, I thought, "Ah, I'm looking the users straight in the eye. Look at how frankly I'm laying out what I want to say through this story," and I got this weird feeling of, "So that's the sort of person Old Me was." It's embarrassing, but it's like I"m admitting defeat, that i'ts something that Current-day Me can't do. That said, shoving your main theme down the audience's throat is bad in terms of anime structure. After all, it's entertainment. It's transmission that's going out to hundreds of thousands of people with different dispositions and tastes, so I want to start by gradually tuning them in to my wavelength and getting them to enjoy this anime. So I think the ideal outcome would be that they'll stick with us on this slow burner, or "long single story," and the theme will ultimately get across. Game and anime are different in that respect, too.

What did Nasu mean by this

a porn game

I think a lot of the issues people have with the Fate route is that Shirou acts completely retarded in the route with his "You're a woman so NO FIGHTING!!" He never shuts up about it so it gets incredibly annoying. Besides that, Fate just feels kind of slow because a lot of it is just explaining the setting.

I guess there might also be people that don't like it because Shirou is exceedingly useless in it compared to UBW and HF.

He means books are much easier to get your ideas across, and he's right. Look at all of the anime-only fags who can't wrap their heads around basic shit.

Why the fuck didn't Gil use his armor against Shirou?

He's nicely stating most anime fans have ADD and can't focus and ask stupid questions or make bold, incorrect statements. Look at this thread.

More of those two on the left please.

>DEEN

Gil was overconfident and never believed a woman and child could beat him. That's all there is to it

He sent it in for polishing. Not his fault Shirou was too impatient to wait until he could get it back.

plot armor + plot convenience

Didn't see him as an equal. He only donned his armour in the Fate route when fighting Saber because he knew Excalibur can eviscerate him.

He wasn't as popular as the real life equivalent.

meanwhile kamige MC

Wasn't Saber the ONLY person who Gil donned his armor against in FSN?

If the Servants in FSN are stronger than FZ, why wasn't he wearing his armor?

And here's David.
>has the arc of the covenant on him
>destroys anything that happens to touch it, takes out all 12 of Hercs live easily

chuuni priest

He also had it on when he skewered Caster in the fate route but I'm certain he was trying to make a bold, flashy entrance then.

Uro: Honestly, Saber doesn't look much like a heroine to me. I can still see traces of the male version of Saber that appeared in the early version of Fate (*7). Because of that mental image, Saber's relationship with Shirou doesn't seem like a realistic relationship between a male and a female, but a complicated relationship with a boy who became a girl.

Nasu: Typical Urobuchi... I really can't pull the wool over your eyes... I intended to take that to the grave with me, but I guess this 10-year anniversary is a good place to talk about it. Just like Urobuchi-san said, it's difficult to call the relationship between Shirou and Saber a relationship between a man and a woman. Saber has fought for a long time as the ruler of Britain, but then turned into a girl all of a sudden and fell in love with Shirou. It's pretty ridiculous when you think about it. But I really wanted to push it towards that sort of boy-meets-girl story. So as a last resort, I had Shirou continually say things to her like "But you're a girl," and "Girls aren't supposed to fight," in order to remind the users that "she is really a girl." It's like the author's actually the one trying to convince Saber that she's a girl... I feel like I could have written it a lot better now, but that was the best I could do at the time.

Uro: It isn't a relationship fueled by instinct like the relationship between a man and a woman, but a romance of logic between two people who need each other from the heart. I think the Saber route could have been told as a story through the ancient Greek views on love. That's what makes Saber's story so refreshing, and why she's become such a popular character. On the other hand, I think the true heroine of Fate/stay night is Rin.

If Gil is supposed to have "all the originals from every NP" why the fuck he never used Rho Aias?

Everybody such is a dick to him for no reason.

...

Fate was always the EOP VN equivalent of a typical ecchi battle harem. Decent, but massively and obnoxiously overrated, with an extremely loud and ignorant fanbase that considers it the best thing in the world.

Maybe because rho aias was a modified shield by the person in the legend the original he has is just an unmodified shield.

All "Why didn't Gil do x?" questions can basically be summed up as "plot reasons".

is 18if a good anime?

Reminder that UFO's adaptions of FZ and FSN are supervised and approved adaptions by Nasu himself. Every addition, removal, extra, bonus, etc.

DEEN's FSN was just an advertisement to get people to buy the game, who knows what they were doing with the UBW movie.

Remember when Gil could have killed Shirou, Rin, Sakura and Saber multiple times but chose to walk away because

>Chadbuchi shitting on Artoria in an interview
>rightly declares Rin as best girl

Based as fuck. Nasu also corrected his mistakes and gave us real Arthur now with his own LN series, drama CD, bigger role in FGO and anime adaptation soon.

You can simplify it further and say "why didn't x do y? Because plot." for every single story and you'd be correct, because stories are written by people with things in mind and have a clear idea of what shall happen. Written characters aren't real, they don't make their own decisions, they are controlled by the author.

You'd think after all this time you spend on Sup Forums you'd get at least a little better at criticizing media.

It's average. Since every episode is animated differently some episodes aren't very good while some pretty great. If you don't have anything else you wan't to watch right now, it's pretty good.

Nah, Jesus didn't change his ideals for a slut, no matter how much people talk about Magdalene

This was in Type Moon Fes if you wanted more - heavens-feel.com/type-moon_10_anniversary_phantasm_translation.html

>Nasu also corrected his mistakes and gave us real Arthur
Nasu wanted male Arthur form the very beginning, Takeuchi was the one who genderbended him to get more sales.

Is this why they skipped Fate?

No, they skipped Fate because UBW ties in strongest with F/Z and they also wanted to respect DEEN's fate adaptation.

>ecchi
>harem
I don't see how you're getting this.
user Shirou knows that swords and justice>banging random bitches.

>Why the fuck didn't Gil use his armor against Shirou?
I wish, nobody is a dick to the MC-kun self insert. Even the enemies who try to kill him isn't for personal reasons. Gil was very meta and hated the self insert because was a plain person unsuited to be a hero and hated the fuck his random asspull power-ups and plot armor defeated them.

Nasu said he added more humor for the benefit of the reader in the novel, but his "ideal" Shirou was actually closer seen in the anime. A more stoic figure who never smiles (though by the end of the he does smile, because you know, character development).

I just watched Unlimited Blade Works and Zero. What is the next Fate anime I should watch?

It feels like a crime that Apocrypha in particular isn't better among the Fate spinoffs. It has the coolest fucking servants.

So, is Gil armor just a generic gold armor, or is really a NP-tier mythical armor?

Prisma Ilya is unironically the next best choice. You're better off reading it though.

Reading as in visual novel style or is it an actual book?

Prisma Ilya was originally a manga. I prefer that version, though the anime does have more loliservice.

Watch Carnival Phantasm, is literally the best Fate animation ever made

Fate Zero was good.

The waifu level was low, the characters were interesting, some were linked to Saber's lore.

It had fucking battles.

I don't know the rest, but seeing Fate/Illya and all the pedo yuri bait makes me want to run away from it and not try anything else from the license.

Thanks everyone Ill be sure to give it a go!

Why is the guy on the right so much better than Shirou?
Why people like this trash?

Try Fate/stay night, Fate/hollow ataraxia, and Fate/strange Fake.

Original prillya is pretty fun and Drei is Heaven's Feel-lite, the only problem with Prillya is zwei because is literally just pedo-bait fanservice. I recommend just skipping to drei if you don't like the lewd lolis.

>in front of waifus
>waifus
Why neo/a/ keeps misusing this term

...

Fate was never good.
It was always a pretentious ero-VN for fedoras who thought they played/watched some deep shit when reality is that it just turned history characters into shit tier waifus and currently into shit tier yuri/CGDCT waifus.

how is that relevant to what i said?

>UBW ties in strongest with F/Z
But that's wrong.

How so? UBW is the canon sequel to zero.

HF's is the route with more ties to Zero

>All these weak ass fools trying to avoid Prisma because of loli.

Because Kerry's ideology wasn't the be all, end all of Zero.
