I've got issues that prevent me from ever working, and the program I'm went though years of medical records and history before I was accepted and there are restrictions on what I can use the money for, and what I can own to remain eligible. I see no reason why they shoudn't use the same system for everyone who wants government assistance.

If you're holding down a fast food/retail job you won't be able to pay for rent/food/etc on your own with just your paycheck, you will have to find several roommates. I don't recommend going on welfare, because based on my experience (what I've seen of friends/family) once you're on welfare you slide into a rut and never get off it again.

My first interview was the only one where they even cared about education and they only asked about the university and how I spent my time there. Once I started getting work experience interviewers never mention my education unless they are alumni.
