But now that the "Russian government" has zero consideration to the EU sovereign nations. They can now attach to the contract companies supposed to receive money of gas exportation and take active measures to size accounts with no explanation whatsoever of formal backing of the contract companies or Russian government (which they will never do because is basically accepting they are stealing all the wealth of Russian key resources to the public), which means now the Oligarchs have to money their money back to Russia or some eastern nation they don't trust and at the same time put pressure to its money laundry assets to stay still and not rat them.
So the Oligarchs are by now reprimanding their Kremlin lap dogs for acting like tough cold war era imbeciles. And asking them to be submissive again on public so they are out of the spotlight and therefore to keep their pockets safe.
But it comes at a cost. Showing a little discrepancy so fast will make Russia look weak at home and some other not so friendly allies will take this chance to move on and pressure the Kremlin. From Ukraine special partners asking more money, to Chechen elite asking more freedom of policy, to local lords on the eastern Oblast demanding more force support like the gas oligarchs enjoy, to patriots officers putting more pressure to leave Syria and its humiliating role of a proxy dictator private security. -------------------------------------------------------------------
