Worker owned businesses and cooperatives are the only viable path forward because they can exist and grow under a capitalist system while also changing power relations for average individuals and communities. One is not faced with the sometimes insurmountable challenge of abandoning capitalist society all at once, non-radicals or those who consider themselves apolitical can be attracted, and there is a persistent but lawful threat to the status quo that won't simply fizzle out like a protest.
