>Dozens of Nusra fighters killed, tank destroyed after jihadist armored assault is repelled by rival Islamists in west Aleppo BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) – Amid ongoing tit-for-tat clashes between Al-Qaeda affiliate militia Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (better known by its former name, Jabhat al-Nusra) and rival Islamist group Jabhat Tahrir Souriya for control of various cities, towns and villages throughout northwest Syria another bloody dust-up has occurred.
On Friday, Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham launched an assault on the village of Blinnta in the western countryside of Aleppo province – the attack was backed up by armor, rocket artillery and mortar fire.
Reports hint that storming forces (inghamasis) belonging to the Al-Qaeda-linked faction were allowed to enter the village after which they were cut off from friendly units and wiped out – effectively bringing an end to the battle.
Opposition sources claim that dozens of Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham fighters were killed and at least one tank was destroyed (this second claim being somewhat proven by video evidence shown below).
