O

MY

>chrollo
>low tier

This statement was actually meant to exemplify Chrollo's admiration for people who try to defy the inevitable. From Chrollo's perspective, Chrollo knows that Hisoka's going to die, but he sees Hisoka press on anyway, refusing to give in to what Chrollo knows is a certain fate.

We see this theme of "trying to overcome the inevitable" arise before in Chrollo's interactions with Neon and Lovely Ghost Writer. I believe Chrollo sought Neon out specifically because of her ability to tell future, because Chrollo yearns for insight into where he is destined to go. He himself admits to not understanding who he is, and I think the larger question at work here is "what is his greater purpose in life?" That's why Chrollo sought Neon out--he wants to understand where he's going, on this earth and beyond. The conversation between Neon and Chrollo is very poignant and, I think (in hindsight), telling about Chrollo's motivations. He was genuinely curious about Neon's abilities, and her thoughts about the afterlife. He targeted Neon to come to conclusions about his own destiny, not just because he likes stealing things.

Chrollo's views are a fictional derivative of Calvinism/predestination. From a symbolic and thematic standpoint, it fits nicely with a lot of possible plot points.

Switch Quwrof with Pariston, he is the definition of villain with mysterious/insane motives.
Also, is that a chart for ants?

you defend this op, *unzips dick*

This was a great read. I never noticed the deeply rooted theme of predestination in Chrollo's character arc. Regarding the fortunes, I actually hypothesized myself that Chrollo's fortune was still unfulfilled, and that "East is the direction to go" was referring to the Dark Continent rather than Greed Island. Of all the primary antagonists of the series, Chrollo is the most mysterious, and has been given the least amount of attention, so I am excited to see how his story progresses.

>"East is the direction to go" was referring to the Dark Continent rather than Greed Island
Green Island could have been a red herring for all we know. Dark continent is the most eastern location after all.

Gon literally game-ing Nen covenants
Generations of Zoldyck inbreeding and Nen-breeding led to failed experiment and supremely powerful being trapped in a small genderconfused child
Hisoka doing wild shit, this one is too hard to defend honestly

defenses of gon-san and O MY are acceptable in my eyes, but anyone who defends nanika is taking it from Togashi in all orifices and deserves a mercy killing.

High tier and mid tier is the same person btw

Fuck off back to there.

Often ants have a specific human they are created from.

Its implied at times that meruem was made from gyro. But Clearly the antking part of what made meruem was so much more important than individual personalty of the human he came from( not saying the human nature of meruem was less then the ant part, just the personality of the source of the human)

it doesn't need defending because the manga literally explains every single one of those situations pretty well.

Kek

Kill yourself.

You don’t read the manga, do you? The Zoldycks didn’t breed Nanika. It already existed before the kid was born.
