How much longer do you guys think Trump will be in office? Let's be realistic, every day it's looking more and more like it's the end of the road for Trump
I'm worried about what's going on in the Middle East. I haven't really been following the situation over there b/c I'm so sick of talking about sand niggers so I have no idea what's happening. please tell me we're not going to war with Russia and/or Iran.

>A fight between high-school girls led to billionaire Jeffrey Epstein being busted on charges of having sex with underage teens - but infighting between police and prosecutors resulted in most of the raps going belly up, The Post has learned.
>Despite an earlier claim that Epstein was backing out of a plea deal, he is resolute and will plead guilty in January to a single charge of soliciting an underage prostitute in Florida, sources close to the case said. The money manager's lawyer, Gerald Lefcourt, declined comment.
>The single felony charge - and the 18-month prison term Epstein is expected to get in return for a plea - is a slap on the wrist compared to what Palm Beach police had recommended at the end of their 11-month investigation last year.
>Cops had wanted prosecutors to slam Epstein with five felony counts stemming from "massages" he had received from as many as four underage girls - but the vast majority of those claims have disintegrated, thanks to questionable witnesses and misrepresentations from cops, a source close the case said.
> Police presented their findings to prosecutors. The prosecutors, however, found numerous cracks. The "sex toy" pieces turned out to be a broken salad-server handle. The numbers cops found led to women who were 18 or older when they went to Epstein's.
>Police also hadn't told them that one of their key witnesses, Epstein's former housekeeper, Juan Alessi, had been fired and arrested after getting caught on Epstein's video cameras stealing money. Alessi had told cops that Epstein would have three young girls a day over for massages.
>A review of Robson's taped interview showed that she had told investigators that Epstein had never asked her to bring underage girls and that she had told the girls she took him to say they were 18. The 14-year-old had told cops she told Epstein she was 18 because Robson warned her, "If you're not, he won't let you in his house."
>Most damaging to the case, the girl who cops said Epstein had sex with told police that the tryst with the other woman was her idea, that she invited Epstein to join in - and that she was actually 18 at the time. Epstein passed a polygraph test, during which he was asked whether he knew that any of the girls he had been seeing were under 18, records show. He also underwent a psychosexual exam, in which a doctor found he was neither a pedophile nor a sex addict, the source said. Epstein's lawyers offered the results of both tests to cops, who said they weren't interested.
>Prosecutors presented everything they had to a grand jury, which returned the lone solicitation-of-prostitution charge. That outraged Police Chief Michael Reiter, who sent the head of the State Attorney's Office a letter accusing him of mishandling the case.

So there was enough evidence to put Epstein away for life but Acosta "messed it up" and I'm sure it was TOTALLY on accident because Acosta is just THAT incompetent/ I guess that' why Trump hired him, right? Because he's incompetent?
I absolutely believe Trump did it to protect himself. This is why Epstein REFUSED to say whether Trump was ever in the presence of underage girls.

reposting this. also posted in wrong bread. sorry.
okay /ptg/. for your information. the communist Red Party, with its one and only member in The Great Thing, has issued a vote of no confidence against Sylvi Listhaug and the government of Norway. (yes, our parliament is called "The Great Thing".) the ruckus is over an edgy meme she posted, targeted at the Labour party regarding terrorism. which is a touchy subject for hopefully obvious reasons. (hint: Breivik) it was in very bad taste but the leftists are blowing everything out of proportions like always.
the socialists, the Labour party and the Farmers' party have all decided to back this. which is not enough to take Listhaug down. but: if the Christian Democrats also support it, shit's gonna hit the fan. and it'll be a huge political victory for Bjǿrnar Moxnes and the communists. and a huge political defeat for the conservatives.
they're deciding on Monday.
I think the Christian Democrats will save the day. otherwise, we will have an actual happening on our hands.
worst-case scenario: Norway loses its conservative government. second-worst case scenario: Listhaug is forced to resign. best-case scenario: Listhaug gets a slap on her wrist.
So to sum this up, a plea deal was pursued because shitty prosecution fucked up the case and this was all they felt they could get Epstein on, as all of their evidence was becoming questionable and they didn't want to risk a trail and Epstein being found not guilty and walking, so they took any option where Epstein would serve some amount of time.
In other words, the evidence they had, which probably mainly consisted of witness testimony, Epstein's defense lawyers were able to poke enough holes in to make it seem unreliable, probably by relying on memory gaps and such, and thus make the case shaky. In court it isn't about what happened, it's about what you can definitively prove, and if you can't definitively prove or convince the jury or a crime, then the perp walks. All the defense has to do is sow enough doubt.
To avoid a worst case scenario where Epstein got off, they extended this plea deal to get Epstein to do some amount of time.
Also, Trump excommunicated Epstein when he learned about Epstein's habits.
>So to sum this up, a plea deal was pursued because shitty prosecution fucked up the case and this was all they felt they could get Epstein on >And then Trump hired that same shitty prosecutor
I feel like everyday there's a new WW3 thread so its hard to judge the severity of any given thing. now I'm going to be worried. why do I do this to myself? why do I ruin every weekend browsing Sup Forums?
