Cardcaptor Sakura thread

Bump

I love Tomoyo!

Is it worth watching it to catch up to the sequel next season?

Yes, it's great. The movies aren't necessary but watch the OVA that just came out after you finish the show.

O-ok

Pretty much everything by Clump is worth a watch. Cardcaptor Sakura is really simple with it's focus on love and friendship but it's really fun in it's simple way. Manga gives a bit more background and minor changes but its pretty on point.

I've always been interested in reading the manga, but have never seen scans that are not low res 800x400, compressed, or watermarked. Has there ever been a re-scanlation effort made for the series?

Watched the first episode, was funny and cute. Sakura was really great.

Brand-New Love Song
HARE HARERUYA!

I'm not a lolicon, but Sakura is too hot

>movies aren't necessary
Wrong faggot. Both are good watches even if they're non-canon.

I just meant they aren't important to the story and can be skipped if he's in a rush. They're still good watches if he's not.

dumb sakura poster

It's alright

DAIJOUBU
DAIJOUBU
DAIJOUBU

>and can be skipped
At that point you might as-well skip every episode.

I disagree.

Well then you're a hypocrite

...

No, we all liked it so much we bought the manga in Japanese and that's what we read.

>skip the long movies that contradict canon and come after everything else except the new OVA
>don't skip episodes of the actual show
Makes perfect sense to me, fampai

Not hovering over it this time, faggot.

Dumb mod, everyone knows spics love the Sakura.

The anime and movies share the same canon. Movie 1 is between Season 1 and 2. Movie 2 is the conclusion of the anime.

Movie 1 doesn't affect the story at all.
Movie 2 no longer canonical and does not provide a necessary conclusion because the new anime will follow the actual canon. The new OVA serves as the conclusion to the anime which is necessary to go into the new Shing.

HISOMU POWAA

>Movie 1 doesn't affect the story at all.
She catches a card, which is seen again at the start of Season 2. It's small but it happened.

>The new OVA serves as the conclusion to the anime
Wrong. The OVA is a straight adaptation of the last chapter(s) of the manga which had a different sequence of events. If you were to replace Episode 70 and Movie 2 with the OVA, there would be two confession scenes, which makes no sense. Movie 2 is the conclusion of the anime canon, not the manga canon.

>not watching The Sealed Card after the TV series
It's the anime's canon you literal nigger

>not watching The Sealed Card after the TV series
It's the end of the original anime's canon you literal nigger. The OVA and CCH are a continuation of the manga's story only with just 19 cards instead of 53.

The new anime follows the manga canon, not the old anime canon.
>> there would be two confession scenes, which makes no sense
Oh no, they go into more detail about something that happened earlier in the story, I'm so confused.
The correct thing to do is watch everything, but I'd you want to understand the new anime then Movie 2 isn't strictly necessary because it has been superseded and the new anime doesn't follow from it.

Huh? It's a pretty shitty done gif, but there's nothing weird about it.

You guys are arguing two different things. The question was whether it was necessary to watch them to get caught up to the canon that will be shown in the new series. The answer is no, because the films, especially the second, provides a different ending.

Inevitably the same actual results happen, just in different ways. The films should be watched because they're God damned gorgeous and fun, but watching them for an "official" canon is not necessary.

The new OVA does not supersede movie 2 in the context of the anime canon. It simply adapts the manga

>the manga
Which the new anime is based on.

Yes. The fact that a new anime that adapts the new manga is being made doesn't affect anything relating to canon or what have you in the old anime whatsoever.

Face it user, your precious original ending is old and busted, an historical relic, an object of curiosity.

Literally half of the episodes are filler. You suggesting to skip the anime for not being 'canon' while none of the anime episodes are. You're likely just a secondary

Except as outlined, this conversation is about catching up to follow the new anime.

Which you should read the manga to do if you want the exact storyline

This, you're required to watch the anime canon if you're going to follow the continuation of the anime. It's not rocket science.

>You suggesting to skip the anime for not being 'canon' while none of the anime episodes are.
No, I'm not.
>You're likely just a secondary
Wrong and irrelevant, you have no idea what this discussion is about and whom you're talking to and just want to argue and shitfling.

How about just watching all of it because it's fun?

No shit, not what was being talked about, though, was it?
This.

>no I'm not
>skip
>Makes perfect sense to me, fampai
You literally are. You fuckwit. Secondary confirmed.

I was quoting someone else and expressing my opinion on the internal consistency of their argument. At no point did I suggest anyone do anything. Fuck, you're dumb.

Jesus Christ, people. I just said that the movies weren't necessary to catch up on the manga continuation. If he wants to watch them, he can.

>I was quoting someone
read >makes perfect sense to me

Yes, Jesus Christ. Do I have to draw you a fucking diagram?
user 1: you can do this if you want
user 2: no, that's hypocritical
Me: doesn't sound hypocritical to me

>Yes
Thanks for admitting you were wrong. Wasn't so hard now was it?

You are a colossal tosspot and I hope any loved ones in your life neck themselves

>wrong
Thanks for admitting you were wrong. Wasn't so hard now was it?

No!!

What is it you expect to here exactly?

double-posting because I ignored your first post?

No, I felt my first reply was immature and didn't address exactly how you're a tosspot.
Sorry about that.
>I ignored your first post
So badass.

...

>tfw my post got deleted but these people still talking shit

maybe stop ban evading?

Post deletion isn't necessarily being banned.

I know. He had a new IP (20) though so that's where I concluded he ban invaded considering he was both a new poster and talking about a post of him in this thread being deleted.

Gotcha.

Did Tomoyo's camera get an upgrade?

Thanks for embarrassing me, mom!
Now that you mention it, what year is inside the series? Not sure if I simply forgot or they never mentioned it, will they have smartphones in this new season?

Tomoyo has the same camcorder and they have smartphones now.

Captcha glitched and I forgot pic the second time.

So, do you guys like the movie's ending more or the ova?

They both reach the same general conclusion. Syaoran confesses and is left hanging until Sakura figures herself out and reciprocates. The 2nd movie gives Sakura more time to figure out her feelings in a rather satisfying fashion. The OAV follows the manga's resolution which is quick and cute. Both are fine, but the film's expansion on it, making it tied to a bigger plot, makes it seem a little more grand, I suppose.

Movie. I wouldn't have liked CCS as much if it weren't for the filler, soundtrack and directing. The manga stand-alone feels like a generic monster of the week series.

If the new Sakura has Yuko, asschin and more cross-universe hitsuzen bullshit I'd lose my shit.
