How does he do it?

How does he make power-grabbing look so easy?

You say "Well it's China," but literally no other leader in the country's history since Mao has reached the heights he's achieved.

its simple, you improve the peoples lives just enough that they want you to keep improving them but not enough that they live in luxury and forget about you

Also, if anyone starts asking questions about this arrangement, arrest them in the middle of the night and jail them indefinitely

Its easy. Hire family and make anyone you don't like organ donors.

Pretty much explains it.

in china if u "fight corruption" everyone loves u

The comparisons to Mao is just as retarded as believing that the US constitution has any meaning in the business of the US government.

Deng Xiaoping achieved greater heights than what Xi Jinping has done today.

Deng continued ruling the country for decades after "stepping down" as party chairman. Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao were pretty much doing exactly what Deng told them.

Xi Jinping is the first Chinese leader to have his hands on the stearing wheel since Deng, and he's obsessed with the fall of Gorbachev and decisive in to not let that happen on his watch.

Elaborate

china has the largest middle class in the world now. very high employment and positive view of the government. it's not really a surprise.

It's China...what are the people going to say.....No?

>Elaborate on Russia and Communist China
Peas in a pod.

Also, China does a great job finding and killing CIA agitators

You literally just said what OP didn't want you to say.

I don't see how being on good terms with Russia has anything to do with Xi's most recent power grab.
Obviously Russia and China have their army of spies and other subversive forces but that goes for any country with a sizable role on the world stage.
Don't give that Russian election hacking shit either.

The title of chairman is just that - a title. Trump is the president but how much power does he have when congress tries to block his every move?

Power has never been defined by arbitrary labels, but interpersonal relationships - how much respect your subordinates have for you will follow even after you leave office.

The CCP is a meritocracy that functions much like a corporation. Xi Jinping did not "grab" power, he rose to where he is because his superiors and peers within the party were confident enough in his merits to select him for positions of power.

Hehehe

In America we have such a polarized two party system that we never get anything done. Any good legislation from Obama's 8 year administration are being overturned by Trump. Fast forward 4 years, any of Trump's good ideas will be reversed by a Democrat administration.

Our countries biggest problems (healthcare, looming social security crisis, debt, lack of infrastructure and public education funding, looming college debt bubble, etc.) are in a state of perpetual stagnation. Any attempt by either party to address the issue is met with so much opposition that nothing ever comes out of it.

Compare that to what China has achieved within the past decade and you'll see the obvious advantages of having a one party system

feels like we've been stagnant and paralyzed since 1996, Clinton's 2nd lameduck term when polarization and partisanship really ramped up in Washington and across the country. things still and will get far worse before we even see any light.

This. One key advantage of having a one party system is that you don't have to deal with all the other people who don't agree with you. I'm not saying that's a good thing, necessarily, but sometimes, that's very useful when making an important decision for your country. For example, in China, if there was a terrorist attack one day, they could ban guns as soon as soon the next day. But in places with democracy, obviously this would never work cause you will always have to keep in mind the people who don't agree with you, and you'll just be in an endless debate, and essentially get nother accomplished.

In a single party system you still have factions. There's no difference between a single-party system and a multi-party system. Democracy just makes everything worse and empowers demagogues.

i know we're idealizing unchecked power ITT. and i agree it can work with the right enlightened autocrat because in the past it has. but what happens when you get weak and shitty leaders afterwards? the same way one party could work in our favour it could also bite us in the ass. not a fan of democracy right now for the same reasons everyone else is unhappy but if you don't have the checks, balances and term limits commonly found in a democracy, what do you do then?

He drained the swamp.
