Nisekoi is the king of garbage harem anime. If you like any of the four main girls you'll like it if you like the genre.

It's funny because at the beginning Nisekoi had a bit of fanservice with the pool chapter but that's as fanservicey as it got. After that it barely had any fanservice whatsoever and was the most conservative harem romcom in a long time.

No. The promise was the central plot point in both the oneshot and the series from the start.
And Yakuza are not forgotten at all. In the final arc you see Tsugumi battling Claude.

Of course they started appearing less over time because things cooled down but they were still a factor like when Claude tries to send Chitoge back to America.

I thought the whole series was about Yakuza and thought the promise was a minor plot device until a couple of episodes after Onodera revealed she wanted to fuck Ichijo
