Yes.

Kimi no Nawa was 1st. No doubt.

Fucking redditors

1st on the list of most overrated shit of the year, sure.

This movie is overrated as hell too. At least Kimi no na wa was decent.

Why do people compare these movies? They're nothing alike

Its in the running for best anime of all time 2bh

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

I just saw Kimi no Nawa and I quite liked it. What do people dislike about it?

The fact that it's too popular.

Those people are just being contrarian.
Personally I didn't like how superficial and plot convenient it felt, and its hard not to feel disappointed after all the hype it got.

I was able to get through most of A Silent Voice without crying, up until Yaeko broke down crying and knelt at Miyako's feet begging for forgiveness while Shoya was in the hospital. All that pent up rage and resentment dissolving in a single moment fucking destroyed me, and I bawled my fucking eyes out for the rest of the movie.

Even though I loved Your Name as well, I somehow didn't tear up at the emotional scenes.

It's popularity.

>I somehow didn't tear up at the emotional scenes.
I don't really think Your Name was mean to be tear-jerking. Like the whole "daisuki" thing and the ending are supposed to be happy moments, not sad or cathartic.

Popularity, narrative coherence, and character development are all things that people complain about about when talking about this film, regardless I still found it enjoyable.
