If this is about abolishing slavery in the US in XIX century, then this is wrong. Slavery was abolished as part of the process (across all of the West) of moving to more and more complex industry. There was a growing need for qualified workers, who could not be made from slaves.

Just exploit some third worlders if you need cheap labour, that’s a lot more cost efficient anyways. Moving forwards we will have less and less need for physical labour anyways, as we can make factories, construction etc more and more automated. That will also bring some mire industry back to the west which is another advantage.
The bigger issue is that we are too focussed on pampering the weak and unwilling rather than trying to improve technologically, scientifically etc

Also there’s the issue of what happens once your previous slaves become excess low skill labor instead of just slave labor. Hint: nothing good if you don’t get rid of them.

As some anons, say it wasn't that bad. Story wise, character wise it didn't have anything all that original or meaningful to offer. It was pretty mediocre in that sense. Regardless of that, it was very aesthetically appealing, both visually and audibly masterful. However, that doesn't make it a good film. If you can't bring a good philosophical message to your film, it doesn't have much value.

Slaves are terribly inefficient. The same reason all those Country Incs in Asia blow up is the reason not to won slaves. You can't fire slaves when business slows down, you can't fire citizens when business slows down. Look at Japan, and China is next. This is economic equivalent of slaves economy. They can't cut work force. There is always liability for the families and workers. It's terribly inefficient.
Consider how current capitalism works. When times are good, more workers are hired. When times are lean, workers are let go. Paying workers improves overall economy, because same workers buy your products, your stocks and lend you money.
Slaves are only useful for b2b shit, which has no margin. Cotton to factories is one example. What margin will the factory pay? What margin does retail pay?
Slavery is a shitty system for completely different reasons than the public projection. It's a fixed work force system with fixed liability and you can't adjust to the environment. It's no surprise that slavers need crony capitalism to support this in tough times. The result of this is nigger infestation we have now. They are not needed, and you can pay these people below livable wage, and it beats slavery. It's just not clear what to use them for now.
