Hoshi no Samidare

What made this manga so good?

I guess that it felt a bit different back then when I was reading it compared to garbage like Wan Piss, Naruturd, and BLEACHED. Still its pretty good to this time.

Dropped this 40-50 chapters in because it felt like it was going nowhere. Tried it after Spirit circle because it was awesome but it didn't feel near as good.
Should I give it another try ?

It tells the story it wants to, then it ends.
The only real flaw it has is that the dialogue sounds kind of awkward in english a lot of the time, which is more of a problem with the translation than the manga itself.

Dude, at 50 chapters in you're like 10 away from the fucking ending.

Reading it after Spirit Circle is a mistake, since it's really clear which one is the better work. Give it time, then come back to it. Generally it's overrated but good. Also you stopped right before the end.

Reading it rn.

I like that you get the characters and you get how they progressed, Amamiya is a completely different person by now. And their progressions make sense.

I don't like the action really, I think it's rather boring. I just don't know why but it's the worst parts for me, maybe I am just dumb or just suffer from ADD, but I am not entirely sure what their powers are, what they can and can't do and can't really follow it.

Basically every single one of them has a form of telekinesis, they're just using in different ways. Like compressing molecules or vice versa to affect temperature. Spinning the domain to create a drill, or making a bunch of small domains that you can jump off of.

Thought it was great until I read Sengoku Youko and Spirit Circle and realized it was just good.

Honestly, it wasn't that good. Everyone was hyping it up before I read it but it was really nothing special.

Comfy.

no anime adaptation, it's forever pristine and unknown to fickle normalfags

read 14 episodes. dropped it. too lame

The ending is stupid though.

Hole digging

Your mom is stupid

...

Overall the manga is pretty good, though the action can feel a bit choppy. The manga also does well to treat and develop a fairly large cast of characters in a short period of time, something that'd usually drag down a manga. Still mad that best girl loses.
Yeah, Spirit circle feels like the author got a better grasp as to what kind of stories he wanted to tell, things also seemed a lot better planned out.

Nice ad hominem you have there.

nice ad homonem you have there

The meditative art of digging trapholes

Who could even properly adapt it?

>Thinking there was any chance of anyone but Samidare winning at all
That was your first mistake.

Oldschool Gainax

Has anyone here read the official releases of Spirit Circle or Samidare? I'm considering buying them, but I saw someone mention that the SC translation was "soul-less".

Spirit circle was fucking awesome. Wish there were more manga which centered around reincarnation.

Unpopular opinion: it was better than spirit circle because the spirit circle ending fucking sucks
