I'm not Portuguese (I'm Greek descent), but I was born and raised in Angola as there are a lot of whites there. Angola probably would be stronger and Portugal would be stronger if the empire still existed, that's a fact, but I'm not a historian, so I can't say what would have happen if the war didn't occur.
Overall, even though the Portuguese were considered to be the biggest villains in Africa, they're not really resented by Angolans as far as I can tell, Angola prefers working with people from Portugal by and large, they speak Portuguese quite well (in fact, most people in the cities can't even speak their tribal African language, Portuguese is their mother tongue, that's pretty unique for Africa)
Even though I never personally knew any anti-Portuguese people there in Angola, I'm sure some exist, but otherwise, it's just a normal country with normal people - Some are fond of Portugal, some don't really have an opinion, a lot are too young to even remember being a Portuguese colony, and while I never met anyone who openly hates Portugal, I'm certain some are around.
