What fucked up parents even raised this asshole?

Looks like the classic no parental figure to me. Probably a single dad who wasn't there for him or something.

>birth year of 1945
literally fucked up parents? Very possibly a war orphan.

What was he feeling?

NANTOKA NAREEE

Would old Akagi let the yakuza kill him?

I somehow think he didn't travel that much to meet any new yakuzas to bother, we saw the osaka side of the showdown speaking about old Akagi like some sort of cryptid. Osaka - Tokyo is 500 kilometers according to Google, it's just 5 hours of travel. And old Akagi was supposed to be retired from mahjong for 3 (?iirc) years upon his very first appearance in the mango. What in the world was he doing with all this spare time? nobody knows what Akagi was doing. Anyway this is weird because the young one constantly relentlessly moves from place to place.

>nobody knows what Akagi was doing
Heh.
Probably everything that lets him try hard and use his mind, like golf.

>Anyway this is weird because the young one constantly relentlessly moves from place to place
Success fix.

This kind of think whatever about our pasts storytelling is hard to get used to. Usually it's a source of free reader's love, nobody usually skips that. Right now I wouldn't mind a Washizu flashback tadaima too even if it's a bit cheap, meanwhile for Ten manga it would be unthinkable, only real time events even if it's about dragging the old fuck from another hemisphere just to say muhjong
new ch when

MORE WASHIZU

To be fair I think the last chapters should be about Akagi as a person like Ten but how many chapters are left anyway? 4? That'd be hard to do

>watch the anime
>ends without showing the last 2 rounds of the game that took like 10 episodes to get to the fourth round in
wtf was that shit

Read the mango
Round 1-4: Chapters 50 to 110
Round 5-6: Chapters 110 to 298

Should I read Ten or Akagi first?

Akagi first. It makes more sense in terms of character and even the mahjong is easier to stomach so you can learn it before reading Ten

Gotcha. Thanks user.

I can't stand reading shit online desu, when I run out of anime to watch I'll start reading manga but right now it's too annoying.

Is old Akagi better than adult Akagi? I'm not talking about the dipshit 13 years old because everyone knows he's the worst

Was running away all in thoughts without checking the corpse mature after the huge eyed scenes like
>See if you can make it!
? He is still beautifully young here. Acts his 19 years old age. Clearly we need more versions, the magazine probably agrees but I wonder if fkmt agrees too or he is tired to write about the same dude for decades.

That'd be more interesting than Shin Kurosawa for sure. At the same time I'd be afraid to see more Akagi if it's another Shin Kurosawa situation. Right now the character has a perfect conclusion that wraps up everything and rereading Akagi after Ten makes you see how everything makes sense within the big picture. At least this should be preserved.
FKMT could probably do it even while writing another Akagi series but that's still a gamble. I think Akagi is better off being mysterious in some ways so the viewer can make his own interpretations and keep that ambiguity.

That's probably not canon but I like to think the anime OP and ED tell us more about his character.

>the most of the anime is about shit kid Akagi
>the song stinks like midlife burnout
they went for the heavy parlor atmosphere I think

SILENT THIS SIDE

>the most of the anime is about shit kid Akagi
Only 9 episodes iirc. And to be fair kid Akagi is kinda having a midlife burnout, just without the midlife part.

I probably project Rainbow upon the thing too much (another postwar mango), but imagine living in a ruined country like that. Even without knowing any personal circumstances of the main character imagine all the old men he encounters who saw that whole deal with the false patriotic propaganda, and then suddenly the status of public enemy of the whole world. People around games with betting are ruined as it is but here they are double ruined, and this is where he grows up, still being genki enough to talk a whole fucking lot running around punching another street garbage and all that stuff. He doesn't know what to do with the talent but is it THAT bad?
