No, what is meant here is Mantra Meditation. You have vocally vibrate chants over lengthy periods of time, and by concentrating on them you reach a meditative state.

You'll know that its working when you have a revelatory experience. After Concentration and Conteplation must come Solution/Revelation. Meditation isn't just zonking out for hours or being "mindful" - that's the modern hollow practice which is just another form of procrastination. When you truly meditate, you bring back insights. It's medicinal, not dietary.

Thats not necesarilly a "style" of meditation as much as its a way to convey the unconveiable which is how to meditate. How do you tell someone the proper way to sleep? It just comes naturally, but you can tell them ways to help them get to sleep.
Im not a meditative master or anything but i have some experience with it.
You just need to try it, user. Sit in the position and slowly let your thoughts drift away, you cant force it. Thats where the focusing on sounds come in but after so long you need to let that drift too.
Start slow and work your way up. It takes time to get there and pushing wont make it come faster.
Do some reading on it too. And lucid dreaming.
