Reminder that Italy is the 8th economy in the world, has the 11th most powerful armed forces (I'd argue we beat Germany, according to the last report on their armed forces, thus making us either the 10th or the 9th) and the 9th most powerful navy (projected to become the 7th by 2022 when we get our new aircraft carrier).
We might be a "minor" Great Power, but I argue we have a better shot in the long term due to our overwhelming white majority when compared to other western countries that are facing demographic winter/lot more non-white immigration than us.
So..yeah, if the trends keep up, we might just make it.
