Fremd Tortuchen?

Can't you read the fucking filename?

>goumen
nice filename

Freudian?

You just reminded me that I never finished reading that one Asanagi doujin.

With Alf?

I'm coming to complain.
>setting is almost always pseudo europe with magic
>yet all the mannerisms are still Japanese, including stuff like how and what they eat
>by now the novels are so self aware they just write "cheat skill" in their titles or reborn with all my thoughts
>BLACK HAIR IS SPECIAL OVER HERE YOU SO FANCY

I don't know why I keep consuming this trash

Yeah.

Translations never, 4 books are out.

Except "MC-kun's and Elizabeth's romp across edgeland" has fuckall to do with any of that is basically just suffering and edge 24/7 with no happiness in sight, like, there's plenty to complain about here if for some reason you're expecting anything but a gorefest with a cute main heroine but it knows what it wants to do and never strays from it.
Yeah, really wish someone would pick it up again.

I was responding to the thread name and not as much the OP's manga, under the assumption this is a thread for talking about isekai. Of course there are exceptions to what I said but those that fall under those are growing in size and it's pretty silly how many of them are getting mangos too

Tsukiyo no Fromage was a decent isekai.

Oh definitely, there's so many of those that I ignore them by default at this point, if you have to mention the word cheat anywhere in the title or summary I'm just not even going to bother.

You are entertained, that's why.

>arrogant dragon loli in goth miniskirt in a time where such clothing most likely never existed

I like reading villager's mango but fucking christ the second I saw that shit I got annoyed. Be a bit more creative than that you damn slants

what the fuck those are some horrendous sanitary conditions for a kitchen

If you read it you'd understand where the clothes came from. Still doesn't make it less cringy

I think I get the hint of where they might come from. I've only read the manga of it and so far it's pretty enjoyable
With that said, are there actually any isekais that stay in Asia/Japan instead of going to fantasy white people land? Or heck maybe a isekai that goes to the future instead of the past, making the protag someone who can understand old-world tech

...

>Finally get into Madokami
>Download Realist Kingdom and Release that Witch eBooks because I heard they are relatively good isekai
>Put them onto my e-reader
>Turns out they mostly have different titles and some have the same artwork for different volumes, making it impossible to determine whether you're reading the first volume or third at first glance

Oda Nobunga for Asian isekai. It's the best we have right now.

>No isekai story where the MC is turned down by his high school crush and gets truck'd, only to reincarnate as the crush's newborn child

>still no isekai where a Japanese student dies and is revived as a truck driver (or a truck) and is tasked by god to drive around Japan with his Isuzu to isekai people

>still no isekai where a truck does in an accident and is reincarnated as a human girl who has an odd crush on generic high school boys

Honestly I much prefer settings where the main protagonist is a reincarnated time traveler and not someone from a different world.

Tales of Demons and Gods is a good example of it being done well.

>no isekai where mc-kun is summoned to a world plagued by demons that vaguely look like vehicles and his companion is a yandere truck thing.

This may be the single worst series I ever read.

new to the isekai genre?

T-this is isekai? This looks like a horror manga.

I mean, a "ISEKAI, BUT EDGE AND SUFFERING AND WOAHhHHHHHHHHHH" isn't really that new nowadays. It's as cringey as "SUPER KIRITO-SAMA 3.0" having a harem in another world.

Yeah, you won't want to read this unless you're looking for edge.

I don't really have anything against edgyshit. But when I start looking for something new to read and most of the fanbase comments about it is "WOAH IT'S SO DARK AND GOREY AND SUFFERING! LE SUFFERING AMIRITE? MC GETS RAPED/KILLED/TORTURED FOR 2000 YEARS AND IS NOW BROKEN INSIDE AND OUTSIDE AND DEATH AND EATING BABIES" is as enticing as "WOAH THIS LOOKS LIKE SWORD ART ONLINE!".

Because web novels have removed any barrier of entry to the medium, with the added bonus that some idiot publisher will pick them up and slam out a few print copies for dirt cheap. There's no barrier, so there's no requirement to be original, so authors serve up more of the exact same shit readers just finished.

You see the same thing in western writing with shit like Paranormal Romance, and you used to see it in High Fantasy when that had its boom. It's all paint by numbers cash grab.

I actually have an idea for a YA novel that will absolutely sell truckloads to a bunch of teenagers. It's as cliché as you can think. Dystopian future, MC is from a oppressed group, yadda yadda. You think I should cash out now or wait a few more years?

>You think I should cash out now or wait a few more years?
Dystopian YA is a meme and you're about 5 years too late.

Fucking hell.

Oh well, these things are always running in circles. In a few more years dystopian futures will come back in full force.

It's not gonna be the future anymore in a few years.

Then a democratic fiction?

You should just write it, don't wait. If you wait you'll always be too late.

Anyway I want a josei isekai, I wonder if it exists.

Alright user. When Fox comes to me to sign the movie deal I shall remember you.

I just read it, i wasn't that bad. Re:monster or kumo after she leaves the cave, now that's bad.

Eh Kumo is still enjoyable. At least since we know she wasn't the girl we thought she was.

I just couldn't stand the series anymore after she became a goddes of sorts, and then every god or demi god was an asshole just for the sake of it. I wanted keep liking it for the friend who turned into a girl and started to fall for the hero, but alas.

>yet all the mannerisms are still Japanese, including stuff like how and what they eat
What? The former is certainly true, but the local food is almost always some ultra shitty stereotype of crappy medieval European food precisely so the MC can introduce superior nippon cuisine to his harem.

Still looking for that isekai with the grunt MC turning into a villain after the Hero kills his waifu by collateral damage.

Are you going to dump this?

I want to see a series where the MC introduced Japanese food to everyone and they hate it
>So your entire meal is fucking rice? Just rice?
>Raw fish?
>Why is your food so fucking bland? It barely tastes like anything

I mean there's a billion revenge isekai out there where some chad side character is the stereotypical summoned hero who ends up screwing the MC over in some way or fashion, causing the MC to become a vengeful edgelord, but that's probably not what you're looking for.

I don't think I've ever read an isekai where the MC tries to introduce sushi to people. It's always >muh mayo, >muh fried tonkatsu, >muh pudding, >muh spaghetti neapolitan, or in other words trashy western-influenced diner food.
I think even the most self-absorbed Japanese writer realizes that raw fish isn't something that most people will eat without a second thought.

I've seen it happen.

It's nothing special at all.
Most Japanese cuisine is an acquired taste anyway. Yet every time someone eats it, they instantly fall in love with it.

It's not like the fine culinary world doesn't circlejerk over nip cuisine in real life too.

I heard that rudeus in MT managed to make japanese-style rice but everyone who tasted it was like "meh".

an user posted about it
>Grunt MC is narrator that follows Hero
>suddenly his peasant waifu dies by collateral damage
>then POV switch to Hero and this Grunt who was always in the background fucking things up after going nuclear

seems fun and nyarou is a fucking hell to search

>it's an isekai
>but the MC is a little boy who travels to many fairy tale stories to destroy the anomalities caused by "The Plothole" and make sure that the stories are told as they should.
>MC make many allies in his way like Red Riding Hood, the big bad wolf, Aladdin, the genie, the monster of Frankenstein, Dorothy, etc. and enemies like the Vizir from Aladdin, the circus man from Pinochio, Dracula, Maleficent (who for some reason is a tsundere loli) and many others.
>at first is comfy and funny adventures, but as the plot progresses it become darker with themes about prewriten fate and wanting to live beyond the end of their stories.
>The real villiain was not the plothole, but the librarian (who is the MC's sensei) that wanted to keep the fairy tales world isolated and enslaved by fate.

>
Really?
That doesn't look like the OP's pic.

>Isekai Goumon Hime
What? The mango? LNs seems to be partially translated.

The joke stopped being funny 100 threads ago.

chapters 6 of the manga

She's disguised

>>Why is your food so fucking bland? It barely tastes like anything

That's not traditional britbong food.

What is
>うちのトラックは、轢いた相手を異世界に飛ばせるらしい

Yeah, Rudy manages to find "Rice" and was meh, even he made "Rice" with "Soy Sauce" and "Egg" (The Legendary Japanese food in almost any anime) and was like another food for they

Yeah I agree. It seems most of these dark fantasy stories miss the point of a story of suffering. If there is no payoff, no goal and no progression other than "Let's suffer some more, shall we?" it becomes stale. That was why I could never get into GoT. Every piece of hope was crushed repeatedly, and it starts grating on my nerves.

>BLACK HAIR IS SPECIAL OVER HERE YOU SO FANCY
This genuinely makes me feel sad for them. Somewhere, deep inside, the average isekai reading jap just wants to have something special about them. To not look exactly like everyone else around them.

Welcome to the reason YA fiction exists across the world.

Yeah, but it's not usually over something as mundane as your hair colour.

Honestly the opposite trend of having shit people don't usually have is worse.
>Damn I'm so plain
>I'm such a plain girl
>NO YOUR EYES ARE SO BEAUTIFUL, LIKE EMERALDS

>tfw "but I'm not cute at all!" is a universal line that appears in shitty female wish fulfillment fiction across all time periods and languages

but that's my fetish

I wonder why this doesn't appear more often for males.
Like, when a generic self-insert MC says his looks are average, he's usually right about it and the girls jump all over his dick in spite of it. It's pretty rare to see an MC who describes himself as "average" who is actually drop-dead handsome to girls.

Mate you say that but most of the time the girls shoot down his "I'm just so average" opinion by pointing out all his good qualities. Either way it's a way to jerk off the self insert.

Yeah but it's usually by listing his OTHER good qualities, not directly refuting his lack of physical attractiveness.

Again you say that but I've read my fair share of web novels where the male claims to be an average guy who only attends a club because he has to or does it casually, usually kendo because of fucking course it's kendo, and yet he's built like he hits the gym in a fever every night according to the other cast.

This shit is everything that's wrong with isekai.

It could actually be interesting if it was just about her. What purpose does the fag MC serve? He's there for no fucking reason other than "ugh, I guess we need male self insert". And his backstory is so retarded it's not even funny.

And how does he not realize that she's the 14th?

Isekai MC's never serve a fucking purpose in web novels. I can't remember the last time I've read one where I can agree "this needed a random japanese man" or something along those lines.

I love some of the minor subventions MT has

>MC is more mature for his age (due to reincarnation)
>maid thinks he's demon possessed
>MC has a brilliant keikaku
>gets innocent bystandards killed
>Eris wants to go goblin hunting and dungeon exploring
>MC shoots it down because there's no reason for it
>MC wants to enact Genji plan
>MC's father thinks it's creepy and beat the shit out of him

just the little things

>Isekai MC's never serve a fucking purpose in web novels. I can't remember the last time I've read one where I can agree "this needed a random japanese man" or something along those lines.
I don't know how you can say that when most isekai stories are built from ground up specifically to fellate this random Japanese man in every way.
The moment you take him away the entire setting loses all little meaning it had to begin with.

Isekai series need the porn VN treatment where they just remove the guy entirely and make a series about girls lezzing out and having weird adventures.

Koihime did it so right. And so successfully it got 3 seasons so fast.

Name a random isekai and replace the random japanese man with a chosen one random villager who gets a cheat skill. If the only thing that changes is some minor dialogue about how weird this is compared to Japan (or similar as it always seems to be) then it's a shitty isekai. And I'll spoil it for you: that's basically all of them nowdays.

Still waiting for Seo to make one.

It's funny you should say that because Kohimie was one of the only examples I can think of where I'd rather the guy be involved. I liked Kazuto. He was one of the only protagonists I can think of to realise he has a harem and dedicate himself to them without being wishy washy. The motherfucker brings peace to the three kingdoms with his dick.

I'm so glad that isekai shit anime are so fucking unsuccessful the fad is almost done already. All that's left is Death March selling 2k.

What's the next trend?

>I'm so glad that isekai shit anime are so fucking unsuccessful the fad is almost done already. All that's left is Death March selling 2k.
You forgot Shield Hero.

He was absolutely unnecessary. In first game the only important thing he did was pretend to be the heavenly messenger in first town. Girls literally handled everything. And anime clearly proved that it works great without him.

We've got a (relatively mediocre) nation-building isekai that's starting out in novel form.

Nobunaga's Imouto is My Wife

Guy reincarnates into a fantasy sengoku-era Japan as a daimyo during Nobunaga Oda's ascent in his career, and is married to his little sister, Oichi (as you can tell if you follow sengoku history, he's reincarnated as the traitorous Nagamasa Azai).
It's alright thus far. It's an "erotic" LN, so a lot of the plot is spent on just the isekai MC just literally fucking his waifu (like educating her on what a blowjob is). It has the foundation for a good nation-building/society-view isekai series, but it sort of shows the beginnings of their normal flaws.

>MC can recreate western/foreign cooking anachronistic to the time period even though the ingredients shouldn't work or even be present (nigga, how the fuck are you getting sugar if the shogun himself isn't giving it to you? that shit's fucking rarer than fucking gold in 1570's Japan)
>his followers uniformly like and listen to him from the get-go, including a "difficult to tame" magic horse in his stable who identifies him as his master with him being kind and empathetic to it for all of literally two minutes

Worth a shot and hope it stays where it is in quality. It has some foibles but nothing glaring as of yet (Eng has about 10-ish chapters, ~1/3 of them being just MC fucking his yamato nadeshiko wife who should look like a terrifying gremlin-creature due to 16th century court beauty standards, but that can be sort of waved-off since it's a fantasy Japan).

Can I get some sauce on some Isekai like Dungeon Seeker and Arifureta? I love the whole, fuck you weakling, then rising to the top to surpass.

I feel the prologue of TDG and Emperor Domination would be much better than the actual story.

Love New Saga though

I'm not saying his necessary. I was just saying I actually liked him.

nation building isekai is always the worst. I can't think of a single one that isn't self wanking bullshit.

>With that said, are there actually any isekais that stay in Asia/Japan
Touhou basically completely burned that fad out already.

Well, he wasn't unbearable shit like most isekai MC's. Lack of some godly chosen one powers was a +.

most Chinese series are like that

it's pretty much a cliche of MC being a crippled weakling getting beaten down by his family until he gets a magic fuck you power and proceeds to humiliate and/or kill them all.

This really. Suddenly they are the best nation on fantasy planet because they can make katanas and soy sauce.

They start off pretty good, at least for me; I'm a sucker for industrialization and improvement of society from basic germ theory/management.

I'm hoping (but not betting on) that it will be mucked up with the Azai clan historically getting BTFO and getting reamed against the wall over time by Oda forces, so it would be personally interesting for me to see where the story takes it.

I feel like I'd enjoy them more if there was a little more space between the weak beating and the surpassing. Like at least more than the 0.5th of a chapter they usually wait until he awakens his super ki power ultra secret technique god hand budda palm.

The problem I have with it is that it all goes way too smooth across the timeline. Yeah there are the obligatory struggles but it's not easy making a kingdom and these idiot isekai writers need to learn that challenge is healthy.

That's why I keep reading nation-building isekai despite being let down all the time.

One day I'll find one that's satisfying.

>western-influenced diner food
dude this japanese girl i started seeing and her friends were fucking in love with the most basic shit ive ever had

they go ape shit over what italians would consider bland and basic ass pasta but because a japanese restaurant makes it its a fucking gift from the gods

>average gook dude gets wakes up in the body of a crippled least favored son
>immediately becomes alpha as fuck and an overpowered motherfucker

And of course let's not forget the backbone of most building focused isekai
>This, gentlemen, is
>N-NANI?
>Crop. Rotation.
>M-MASAKA!

then Chinese series are the right novels for you

there's almost always a 100+ chapter gap between them, half of them having the MC spend 30 or so chapters before he actually learns martial arts. (ATG for example he doesn't take vengeance against his family until 300+ chapters in)
