Shopping malls are going to be some mystical thing that we tell our children about. There used to be these giant buildings full of stores, anything you could imagine... You could stay there the entire day and have fun shopping. Thousands of people, every day. Now its all on the internet. Times change, kid, times change... Nobody goes to the mall anymore. Last one closed 40 years ago.

Why should we save malls? It's full of niglets who haven't discovered the wonder of online shopping and is overall a terrible experience nowadays

Not very efficient are they? Supermarkets are replacing individual businesses besides boutiques on higher end products. My hometown's mall is infested with people abusing Xanax and congregations of Mexicans jajaja'ing. The clothing stores, book stores, and electronics all left. I remember being a little kid in the early 90ies and saw the first mall being built in my small city. It was like a magical wonderland. Now Barely 20 years later it's being torn down to make room for social housing to house more Arabs.

Near me they use the main lobby for church services, but I doubt that's a permanent thing. They'll have to come down eventually, problem is they cost so much to tear down that they get left to rot.

It works in this particular instance because the mall was somewhat nice. I wouldn't want to live in the giant monstrosities we currently have as malls, but I think the idea is solid. Companies can rent out mall space as office space, we can build stadiums or sports arenas in them, maybe even rework them as schools.

1. The explosion in popularity in internet shopping. Especially Amazon.

2. They very quickly became the kid/teen hangout area. No one wants to be harassed or even in the presence of rowdy kids.

Here in Australia, malls are not under any threat of extinction - indeed many of them are being expanded. Partly this is because we have more stringent planning controls. But mainly it's because we have supermarkets in our malls. So people go there anyway. And because you can get things from the mall instantly, there's still a huge convenience advantage over online retailers.

It's pretty simple.
Since they don't have the same overhead and employee costs as a brick and mortar store, they can sell at a lower rate.
And since they offer prime memberships with free shipping on virtually anything, it's minimal cost for delivery.

Prime shipping is the only reason to use Amazon. Its getting bad with being flooded with low end chink shit. The prices arent that competitive really any longer either. Mexico has grocery stores/supermarkets in malls. The make whitey use an ID to use a debit card though, which is bullshit because if I asked for an ID here they would just run away.

They over leveraged the majority of them which is why they are bankrupt. They did take advantage of online retail well and overexpanded taking on huge debt. Most would be around if it werent for the big debt they took on and is coming due. Watch the Company Man on Youtube for some breakdowns on a bunch of these retailers. Some are mismanagement or changing the conditions but most are because of debt.

When I first moved here, it weirded me out to see grocery stores in malls, and people going all over the mall with the grocery store cart. They'd prolly get tackled by security for that in most US malls.

I've seen this first hand. Returns cost to much, Ie. Shipping,restock, disposal etc.. so niggers just buy 1 item then claim defect couple times and get 3 to 4 for price of 1. Then they eBay extras.

I used to support my local electronics store. But they never have the parts I need and once I needed a new charger for my laptop very urgently. They didn't have it instore, so they ordered it. When I came to pick it up it turned out they ordered the wrong one, so they had to order it again. Had to wait a whole fucking week for a simple charger. And don't forget the gas money to drive there back and forth all the time. At some point I just couldn't justify going there anymore when cheaper and more reliable options are available just a few clicks away.

Indoor shopping malls are an outdated design. Indoor Airport terminal malls and indoor casino shopping corridors will be the only surviving indoor malls someday. That giant mall in Edmonton or that other giant one in Minneapolis might still be around since they are tourist draws, but they might not since they’re so empty these days (in terms of stores, the top floors at the mall of America are dead).

Strip malls have evolved to basically be replacement malls that you can even drive “inside” so-to-speak (the ones laid out like city centers). They’ve got strip malls in front of strip malls in front of strip malls and they’re laid out so you can see all the store fronts due to their retarded parking lots that are accident-prone due to layout.

Go to an indoor mall anywhere and you will see a sea of mystery caramel-colored “people” (as one user once put it). Anywhere, even in white areas. Good riddance
