For now, PP on gov (cuckservatives), next Ciudadanos (neocons and economic liberals) and then VOX (catholic nationalists), that will catch the votes from catholics dissapointed with PP because abortion, gay marriage and trans kids laws. But it's a new party, so it will get 2-5 seats in the parliament, maybe more.
There are some falangist parties, some fascist ones, but the biggest one gets like 25-50k votes.

With fully mobilised active reserves Portugal has 4 times the number of reserves that Spain has and has slightly higher numbers than the total of reserves + active military that Spain has.
It also has more active reserves than France or the UK.
If Portugal has the will to fight, it can absolutely defend itself against foreign invasions in the short term.

1-There are no irrelevant details in history. History as a whole is the study of human behaviour, reactions and decisions. Whether you are atheist or religious, you cant disagree that there are no irrelevant parts of god or the brain, whichever you think is the ultimate authority.
History is what brings us to a concensus, we see ourselves in the past, and understand what we are and were we come from. We also understand that things are as they are for a reason.
2-Taking the irrelevant appart. You have to read and understand what our predecessors did and most importanlty WHY they did it you you want to avoid past mistakes. Saying these things lightly as a proverb or a inspiritional quote gets you nowhere. You say you want to avoid past mistakes, but you disregard the past altoguether as useless in the long run.
3-For example, we entered the first world war, not because germany lauched a major offensive in our colonies, but because we had an extremely unpopular and corrupt government, which dealt badly with the economy and the empire, and thought that entering a foreign war on the side of "righteousness" would give them popularity.
The resulting losses in men and resources not only ensured the end of the first republic, it also set the stage for several revolts and rebelions to ocupy Lisbon. Eventually another man would calm the storm for years to come. Salazar took power, not in a stroke of anger and lust for power, as some woud put it, but as the end result of republican incompetence and greed, which set the stage for justified repealing of democracy. you cant argue with this because you cant call that generation foolish for ousting a government that saw them as expendable.
