Because if you prevent consensus around dangerous personalities like Peterson, who not only talks about the propagation of psycho-social dynamics but ways to circumvent it for political purposes, then you threaten anyone else willing to take the same positions, and you essentially stunt any furthering of his views in the public domain, such as insisting people read The Gulag Archipelago, or that racial IQ differences are real, or that liberalism is failing the west.
