What on Earth were you watching to consider that a cliche.
I don't even remember it happening anywhere except reincarnation isekai

Elite organization of characters with unique powers, especially as antagonists.
Things like the Gung-Ho Guns, Anten Seven, and Akatsuki.

I enjoy a good villain redemption cliche. Something or someone that sets the villain on the path to redemption. I've always loved this.

>Theme song powerup

>mc drops through roof into bathhouse
>what your not even gonna react?
>....kyaaaaaaaaa...
Nothing makes my dick more erect

When your gf says you're a pathetic man child and leaves you. This is one that hurts but pretty common cliche

Don't know what this trope is called but
>Character can't possibly wins
>Sudden motivational speech
>Power up
>Proceeds to win
I'm a simple man but VICTORY GOES TO THOSE WITH COURAGE!!!

>aphatetic MC does its best to avoid bitchy popular girl who likes him

>MC's new love interest looks almost exactly like their former love (Usually deceased) interest
That knowledge alone is always enough to make it hurt.

>Hero sacrifices pragmatism for the moral high ground

Although below "The hero takes the moral high ground without sacrificing pragmatism because he's a fucking boss", I still prefer this to "The hero sacrifices the moral high ground for pragmatism"

I love Paragons.

truly the best moment

Hero sacrifices himself
Scenes of everything being great that the MC worked for
Final shot is the MC's voice calling out to the heroine

>Heroes teaming up
>A villain suddenly appears
>X character says he wants fight all alone
>The rest of the gang goes ahead
>A battle to death between the two
Bonus point if both characters have some kind of relationship.

I've never even heard of this before.

What are some shows where this happened.

>Standard shonen shit
>Has a serious arc
>Corny Fight with friendship
Love series which disregards logic just for epic moments.

I like that thing they do in shonene where the villain is supper strong or something, but we all know the hero is stronger. And then the hero beats the guy up and everyone is all liek "Eeeeeeehhhh?!"

>Hero saves some stupid kid in the first couple of episodes
>The kid comes back strong as hell
>The kid saves the hero's life
>mfw
ENDLESS EJACULATION

>First OP plays at the climax of the final episode

it's called a power up asspull

>joke character saves the main cast by doing something badass

>fight scene goes to black and white

The characters is a fucking smart asshole but he geats beaten and start to do something good for everyone.

>former enemy comes back to help the MC against another enemy and acts all tsun about it

>Intro changes/gets interrupted in the final episodes.

Jojo part 3 got me so hyped with Dio doing that.

>ED merges with the episode
>OP has Character silhouettes which get filled as characters appear, and become colorless as characters die.

>Angel Beats ED
Big sad react

>The fool is the most badass dude in the kings court

BRING ME MY MOTLEY

>asshole is revealed to bea pathetic person with a host of (often relatable) emotional issues

Not at all a thing IRL, but this trope gets me everytiem

>a team of good guys heading towards destination
>team loses one person each time they face an obstacle (trap, another bad guy, etc)
>only the MC is left in the end

Final episode doesn't have an OP.

>he starts to remember all the good things that they did like cooking together or jokes
>they start to say "sarabada" this trip was good

>bro screams to MC that he must keep going and don't look back
>MC starts tearing up while advancing
>bro says that they'll meet again
>as screen zooms out to tons of enemies in what seems to be suicide or hopeless situation

BABY NOW YOU FEEL LIKE NUMBER ONE

>starts to play youtube.com/watch?v=VT6LFOIofRE
>they make a bigger robot inside of a bigger robot 50x bigger than universe
>but still not enough to defeat

I'm love this shit m8

not anime, but all the better Metal Gear games do this

>Halfway through the series, the OP changes to fit the current events or theme of the arc.

...

>main group fights one foe
>each member fights their style, showing off their unique skillset and style
>antagonist takes them down one by one, countering or overpowering their tactics
Only immediately recall Outlaw Star and the first main assassin.
Not to mention >villain purposely throws the fight because he thinks the MC is an alright guy.

This, I love it when they're all shrouded in mystery

I absolutely love it when a show does this. Great taste.

Zoro?

They handled this pretty well in Gakkou Gurashi.

>episode/arc centered on evil superpowered elite badass group where we see them working together, banting and using eachother's unique abilities to great effect and straight fucking up the MC's faction/friends/allies or even the MC themself

What about the ED?
youtube.com/watch?v=SFRJQbDa4SU

>this
>cliché
bet you can't even come up with two anime who do this

I can only think of a video game.

How is something this specific a cliche?

>Flashback to antagonist's past as he's being defeated. Reveal the shitty but necessary choices they needed to make to survive. Suddenly feel bad.

Wasn't who or what I was thinking about, but I suppose One Piece sorta does it. Main issue is that it never actually goes anywhere, and it's hard to call Tashigi a love interest for Zoro. It might as well be wasted potential there.

>The OP plays during the last fight

Higurashi
Rewrite

>main character's about to kill villain
>suddenly main character's friend butts in and says "YOU CAN'T KILL HIM! YOU'LL BE JUST AS BAD"
>in the confusion, villain kills main character's friend and runs off

>The Demon-King is actually a good natured/decent guy or gal.

Cliche has been done half a dozen times by now and I still I love it.

>background character hijacks the role of protagonist halfway through the story

Steins;Gate

>protagonist suddenly becomes the antagonist
>antagonist suddenly becomes the protagonist

>villian loses the fight on purpose
>tells mc they are the same
>mc becomes villian in the end and accomplishes former villians plan

Every single groundhog's day anime

Ever heard of isekai?

>When everyone else reacts to the crazy shit the main characters do.

Tickles me.

>main character goes berserk and kills a bunch of the bad guy's henchmen
>previously cocky and confident bad guy starts panicking

>Character removes power limiter

>character goes berserk
>it doesn't do anything because his enemies are too competent

>Mentor/Friend died
>MC comes after, start mimic his dead mentor/friend while bad guy seeing the dead guy as MC stand
my fucking dick

>old grandpa is secretly super strong and could have taken out the bad guy if his old age didin't get to him

Literally this scene
youtube.com/watch?v=YNp_W_ozVx4

>villain kills someone/destroys something that the mc wants to protect
>mc laughs in despair
>"that was the only thing holding me back"
>annihilates the opposition
I eat that shit up

>Old villain group comes back to beat the new villain grouop
>They succeed

This.
I love my cheesy redemption arcs.
Not "but they had a tragic paaast" types but the one where villain actively do something to gain lost trust and improve the general situation

>Side character sacrifices himself to keep the rest of the party going by removing the power limiter and goes out with in a blaze of glory

>MC has lost it
>now he knows he can kill

Going berserk is the best trope

>Former villain/rival comes to the rescue of the MC from a new villain
>They join forces to beat the new villain

The strawhats vs Kuma?

>multiple groups race through obstacles to try and get the treasure before the others

>character keeps impressing the villain in their rivalry
>all the while they have good banter
>character is chuuni or edgy, and everyone else they know is well aware of said character's nature and pokes fun at it

Anime/manga? This sounds interesting

>The background music ends on a note that seamlessly cuts to the ED theme at the end of the episode

>old villain dies
>new arc introduces new villain who just takes the old villain's plan and modified it
>old villain pops up out of no where
>thanks current villain for fixing his plan
>kills current villain and hijacks the plan
>actually succeeds

>MC loses will to fight
>weak side character attempts to fight instead
>gets completely beaten down
>refuses to stay down and continues to try even if it will kill him
>MC has a wake-up call and regains the will to fight

>redemption arc for a villain
>protagonist going mad or proving to be more morally grey than before thought
>edgelord/thug with a heart of gold
>Character doing something previously considered impossible or fucking shit up at cosmic levels after having enough (requires proper build up though)
>tsunder + tsundere pairing, preferably with a tall broody male and a bratty loli
Obviously not limited to only anime but other forms of storytelling too.

Make it even better.
>MC is so fucking mad that doesn't give a shit anymore
>transform into hideous beast to kill anything in sight.

Wished it would have stayed that way.

>MC's ally go to villain side
>The ally tossed away all his skills to gain new power
>MC fucks said ally with ally's former skill that he tossed away
Loved when Beyblade did this but idk any other series which does it as well.

>redemption arc for a villain
Lucilfer should die screaming.

>main character is frozen in place
>manages to keep moving due to their sheer force of will

>Mecha/characters get so damaged/hurt and tired when fighting it devolves to those two struggling to just throw punches at each other

The OP or ED depicting the main heroine just having a normal day, doing her regular activities.

>main character is frozen in place
>starts moving everything else

>anime opening
>MC is seen reaching out to a lost loved one
>his hand barely touches them or never touches them

That shit does it for me everytime.

youtu.be/zUVEsbKeV5k?t=80

>antagonist looks like they're solidly beating the protagonist and about to go for the killing blow
>protagonist suddenly smirks

>it's a "characters go out West" episode
>full of really bad, quotable engrish

>the know-it-all character asks a very simple question with a very simple answer
>but you know he's going to engage in an autistic monologue ramble that lasts for 10 minutes which uses archaic language and words with more than 4 syllables, but it unironically has some good points here and there

>heroes barely manages to scrape out a victory against opponents
>at least twice that number of opponents with the same powerlevel show up
>despair
The scene with the final wave warping in at the end of gunbuster was sublime.
Unlike in gunbuster, this trope is sadly followed by an asspull.

>villain does horrible, traumatizing thing to MC's ally
>time passes
>villain has a redemption arc
>MC's ally is in terrible danger and MC can't save them
>former villain, trying to atone for what he did, puts everything on the line to save MC's ally

Bonus: ally sees who it is and refuses the rescue

>there's no one in the OP
>only back grounds
>yeah is fucking sad

>all of the protagonist's friends nobly sacrifice themselves and die one by one over the last few episodes to boost the protagonist into a position where he can win

>criminal gangs with a family dynamic

The main male character masturbates into his hand to the naked, comatose main female character.

Any battle that devolve into a simple fistfight does it for me.
>the end of sCRYed was the absolute pinnacle of this
