What intrigues me the most is that Jesus warned of false prophets who would arise after His death and claim to be Him, and that they are wolves in sheep's clothing not to be trusted. What does that mean for people with bipolar and other disorders who symptomatically have believed themselves to be the messiah?
There's a bunch of theories.
One is that your brain developed a chemical disorder. This might be due to genetic reasons.
One interesting theory is about mental illnesses (and even stuff like chronic pain) is that they are psycogenic.
That you had some kind of traumatic experience that wasn't "processed" and is looping around in your limbic system.
