Imaishi is the Blizzard of anime. He takes proven concepts that he enjoys, simplifies them and makes them more accessible and in most cases better than the original. Only difference being that Imaishi actually has an interesting and fun visual style.

Promare looks a bit more derivative off his older works than his previous shows. During Luloco I started to get the feeling that he thinks that he is hot shit (which he actually is), but it shouldn't seep into his shows as a way to pander to the western audience.
The only reason RE: sucks is that it drops off after the first episode. And you can guess who was the director for the first episode.
